I was invited to Mass last night, and I went. šŸ™‚

All I can say is that it was amazing, and I know I belong there. It was so great, even if I did get a little mixed up at times! (But I kept up better than expected!). I received a blessing during the Eucharist (although I think I surprised the person holding the communion…he looked at me with my arms crossed, then finally blessed me!).

I really, really, really loved it, all of it. I want to go back (and I have plans to, you can guarantee that!).

After the Mass, I met the Priest, who was extremely kind and welcoming.

The person I attended with was a Mass Coordinator, so I really got to see everything (she took me with her to prepare the communion and everything else she had to do!).

All in all, it was a wonderful experience.

Wonderful, simply wonderful.

God Bless. Go back soon. God is leaning forward waiting for you and me.

JL: God be praised, thanks for the post.

I am simply so glad that the Lord led me to him and the Church. Spending just two hours in his Church was such a blessing, especially since I was allowed to see and learn so much.

I cannot stop thinking about this! It is going to be something I never forget. I never dreamed it would make such an impact upon me.

One thing…there was a hymn sung while everyone was receiving the Eucharist…I want to say it was called ā€œThe Table Prayer,ā€ but I can’t seem to find it anywhere online nor can I remember the words, but I loved it. Does anyone know the hymn, or perhaps, if I am incorrect in the name, what hymn this could be? 🤷

Thank you so very much.

it could be in the song book in the parish. you can go back there and look it up. i’m not sure which songbooks are used in the diocese you attended. but there may be times that the choir may sing a song thats not in the song book

Is the title perhaps Table of Plenty? That is a fairly popular song for Communion.

No, it wasn’t Table of Plenty. I know that one. 😃

It was in one of the books we had in the pews, so I was singing it right of the page. The book was a simple blue one that said ā€œWorshipā€ on the spine, so I’m not sure what book it was. I don’t know why I can’t remember it! I suppose that I was too amazed at everything I was trying to take in at the time! 😊

Worship is the name of the hymnal, published by GIA.

One of GIA’s composers, Jan Michael Joncas has a song ā€œTable Prayer: The Winter Name of Godā€ which can be demoed here (track 3).

I just listened to the track, and it’s a pretty song, but I am baffled by the title ā€œThe Winter Name of Godā€šŸ¤· What is that supposed to mean?

Hmmm…that may be the song. I don’t know for sure. I suppose I should have paid more attention!
