My priest said he shall brief me on what will happen on that day and what is expected of me. On the other hand, I could also sense the evil one is currently working as hard as it can to deter me from it; messing with my mind and trying to draw out all the hate in my heart.

This makes me very happy. I’m sure Jesus is happy too. Praise the Lord! 🎆 🥳

Thank you Holy Spirit for helping Rutherford make this big step. Please continue to help and guide him on his journey.

You will be in my prayers.

Thanks be to God! I’ll offer a St. Michael prayer for you.

Resist the devil and he will flee!

It always happens when I am near to my baptism. I would also like to mention that the devil is quite clever in his method. Even as I typed this, I was tricked twice. One is inciting my anger through my office work, another one is destroying my self-esteem through insults.

I’m glad you recognize it as the evil one. I will keep you in my prayers.

C. S. Lewis says that we commit two errors with regard to the devil. One is to give him too much credit, the other is to fail to give the devil his due. The latter is hardly the case for you, and probably more likely the former.

Which is to say: don’t overthink. Feelings and emotions and whatnot will happen, and given some of what you say in your posts, your thoughts can be quite ramped up a good bit of the time. Don’t give the devil more credit than is due, don’t turn everything into some kind of attack of the devil, or he’ll be there at every turn. That kind of thinking becomes a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy. Instead, focus on Christ. We don’t fight the devil by being excessively focused on him, and we don’t grow in virtue by being focused on sin. Focus on Christ who calls you and how he calls you to live, and there will be no room for the devil.

Edward George is right. Don’t fight wrong thoughts, replace them with good thoughts.

Hail Maryx3 for you.
