Hey everyone! I’ve been a Catholic for 3 years and a Mormon for less than a year. I was baptized as a Mormon on July 1st 2007 and was confirmed the following Sunday.
Well, I finally submitted my resignation letter after deciding that I truly want to faithfully follow the Catholic Church in every way.
I feel so free now! It is wonderful to have mailed that resignation letter. I can’t wait to (politely) tell my Mormon friend that I have resigned! :extrahappy:
When I was first baptized, I had just had 3 weeks of home classes. They pressured me to get baptized as soon as I first went to their church which was my first contact with the Mormon church. I couldn’t believe this! I let them set up a date for me because they told me that I could change it if I wanted to. However, I was excited to be going to the Mormon church because the people were all so friendly and welcoming. I realize now that they acted this way simply so that they could get me to be baptized and confirmed in thehir false and fraudulent church.
I have read somewhere that the Mormon church actually set a date on Jesus’ second coming at one time but obviously this “prophecy” failed. I do believe He will come back some day but as the Bible says, no man knows the day or the hour that He will return. This is one of the last things I read before deciding to submit my resignation letter.
Another thing that turned me off to Mormonism was the fact that they were racists for quite some time and African-American Mormon males were not allowed to become priests until the 1970s. Not only this but they called African-Americans the descendants of Cain! The Catholic Church has never done this and as a matter of fact, we have had African Catholics since very close to the beginning of the Church.
There was also the “Great Apostasy”. I believed it at first but then I realized that Christianity has existed for the past approximately 2000 years so it couldn’t be true. The Catholic Church has remained on this earth ever since Jesus established it after his death and resurrection.
Another thing I disagree with is the fact that the Book of Mormon says that honeybees and steel existed in ancient America. Not to mention the fact that the Book of Mormon mentions cities that never existed. And what is more ridiculously incredible than the idea that Israelites sailed across the ocean to the Americas???
The other day, I met with the missionaries as I was having doubts about Catholicism and was considering going back to the Mormon church but I decided to go back to the Catholic Church the morning of the missionary visit. The missionaries actually laughed under their breath at me when I tried my best to defend Catholicism. Needless to say, I was quite frankly disgusted.
So about an hour ago, I finally mailed my resignation to the Salt Lake City headquarters. Please support me as I go through the resignation process and pray that I do not get any calls or visits from the Mormons anymore.
