I forgot to do my penance!

So on Saturday the confession line was long, so when I got out I had to go to a dinner because I was already late. Then when I got home my best friend called me to vent because she is pregnant and having her first child, and we stayed on the phone late so I went to sleep late and got up in the morning and talked with my visiting grandma before going to Mass.
The priest had asked me to say two Hail Marys and two Our Fathers. I did do an Apostle’s creed and an Our Father and three Hail Marys before falling asleep on Saturday night, but that was because I have been trying to say a Rosary per day and that’s what I could fit in on Saturday before falling asleep. And on Sunday I completed a Rosary, but then this morning I realized that I forgot about my assigned penance. This is the first time that has happened.
 
Unless Father Confessor says otherwise, there is no deadline for penance.

Regardless of what you’re doing or what Rosaries you pray, those details are irrelevant. You can say your penance now or whenever you have time, prior to your next confession.

Also, to add on to porthos11, you didn’t intentionally fail to do your penance. This was an accident, so you did not sin. Just resolve to pray your penance and be at peace.
