The book, The Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ was written about 100 years before, The Life of St. Gemma Galgani simply due to the fact that these two saints, Anne Catherine Emmerich and St. Gemma lived 100 years apart. In the older book, the nun, Anne Emmerich has an ecstatic vision in which Jesus approaches her, holding in one hand a crown of flowers, and in the other hand, a crown of thorns, and invites her to take whichever she desires. 100 years later, this same-exact vision repeated itself to St. Gemma. Both women choose the crown of thorns and both women received the stigmata of Christ’s crown of thorns. Just something nice to notice.
