They kind of have me confused, as they have been interchanging High Mass and Missa Cantata, and I thought those were distinct. But other than that I am very excited. I will only be a Torchbearer, so I don’t have much responsibility, which is good, because right now I am just finishing memorizing the prayers at the foot of the Altar, so I dont feel Im ready to be a main server yet, but after this there will be 21 more EF Masses on Campus this year, 3 low masses a month on Saturdays, and a Missa Cantata/High Mass once a month on Sunday
No no no:tsktsk:
There will not be any of these things. The more progressive among us have already let us know in no uncertain terms that the Traditional Mass is dying and on it’s last legs. Young people are not interested and virtually no one goes to the few Traditional Masses that survive. I know that there will be no Traditional Masses at schools. Why that would show that there is an interest among the young for the Traditional Mass, and we all know that entire Motu Proprio was a gigantic failure. Just ask some of our more progressive brethren and read some of their posts on this forum. Its all there clearly in black and white.
It is a shame that you resort to this type of subterfuge to support a movement that is clearly dying a painful but inevitible death.
I love these posts because it proves beyond any shadow of a doubt that the nonsense the progressives throw out about no interest in the Traditional Mass is a bunch of nonsense that they make up for one reason.
Fear.:bigyikes:
They are scared to death that the Traditional Mass will come back, and they don’t want that to happen at all costs and will do anything and say anything to try to slow it down.
I envy you my young friend, I really do. You are part of something now that is bigger and better than you may ever realize,
Never forget that,
From an old altar boy to the new. Carry on the tradition and stand tall in the faith. I offer you this. It is from an Old Knights of the Altar Manual that I still have, after all these years.
**You will be part of of a group that will form a worthy guard of honor to our Divine Eucharistic King in whose service you willingly assume the dignity and honor of becoming a Knight of the Altar:
You will render faithful, reverent and edifying service to God by assisting His visible representatives, the Bishops and Priests, in offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and in all other liturgical and devotional functions;
You will enkindle in the hearts of the faithful whom we represent at the altar, greater piety and devotion by reverently performing the duties of our holy office and by giving good example in our daily lives.**
I think that about says it all.
