I just got the application in the mail today!!! I am applying to the Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus in Wauwatosa, WI!!! AHHHHHH!!! I am so HAPPY and EXCITED!!! A little nerves thrown in there too, but I am so so so happy! I never thought this day would actually come where I was given permission to apply to the Carmelites. The Lord had me in mind, and I can’t understand how He is so good to me! The Sisters wrote and said that they were sending prayers my way and they are leaving me in St. Therese’s care! Can you think of a better saint to have with you? I LOVE St. Therese and I know she will get me through this “bundle of nerves” time. I am so happy and relieved to be at the end where all I have to do is be accepted. I am joyfully looking forward to the day where I get the phone call saying I’ve been accepted to enter, but all in God’s time!

Please send your prayers that I may be patient and joyful about this whole process! I am offering my prayers for all of you. God bless you!

That is WONDERFUL news :extrahappy::extrahappy:

I will remember you in my prayers before the Blessed Sacrament tomorrow 😃

So happy and excited for you!!!

Will keep you in my prayers!

That’s great news! Congratulations!

Holy Mary, mother of God, guide all of your children toward your Son!

Congratulations. St. Theresa is awesome.
I hope that going through the application, it will help you spiritually even more.
I pray for you. Please keep me in your prayer. I am in process of filling out application to my diocese to enter seminary. I had gone through 3 interviews already, and there will be another one this Friday 13. 🙂

Wonderful! I will pray for you! 😃 :crossrc:

The only thing I am worried about on the application is it asks if you’ve ever been under the care of a psychiatrist, and does your family have any mental illness in it’s history. I told the Superior that I have a history of depression, and what the reason was. I am off my medication too (5 months; YAY!). She still gave me the application afterwards, so that’s a really good indication that I have a good chance. I am abandoning it to Jesus and Mary. If God wants me there, He’ll find a way for me to get in with the history of depression.

I can understand your worry as I have things that I need to face myself especially when telling others from the depths of my soul with all my past problems, current problems, and also gifts that I have recevied from God.

The advice from my spiritual director is and it should be for you too: transparency. You need not to hide anything and be brave. We are to pray to follow God’s will and this requires us to be honest with God, with ourselves and with others.

Pray hard and fill out the form - it really helps you grow no matter what.

CarmeliteGirl25- Praise be Jesus Christ on this Holy Lenten Season. I’m so very happy that you received your application. I will keep you, your family, friends (even on Catholic Answers), religious sisters, and so forth in my prayers. Please say a prayer(s) for my family, friends, enemies, Carmelite Sisters in Armstrong, B.C., and for me.

I’m just curious is this where you will be going?

Prayer to Know One’s Vocation

O great St. Joseph, you were completely obedient to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Obtain for me the grace to know the state of life that God in His providence has chosen for me. Since my happiness on earth, and perhaps even my final happiness in heaven, depends on this choice, let me not be deceived in making it. Obtain for me the light to know God’s Will, to carry it out faithfully, and to choose the vocation which will lead me to a happy eternity. Amen

Almighty God, You entrusted to the faithful care of Joseph the beginnings of the mysteries of man’s salvation. Through his intercession may Your Church always be faithful in her service so that Your designs will be fulfilled. Amen.

My future Superior AND my spiritual director both agree with you about the transparency. I don’t want to lie about anything. I’d feel guilty if I got in there on a lie or technicality so I want to be honest. I was even thinking about asking my former psychiatrist for a letter of recommendation, but my mom said that wasn’t a good idea. I’m going to talk to my SD about it and see what he says next week.

Fantastic news! God bless, CarmeliteGirl and withwind - I’ll offer the next Mass I go to for your intentions. May it be the start of a beautiful and fulfilling life in Christ for both of you!

I am so incredibly happy for you!! 🙂
You are a blessing, and it brings me such joy to hear about your joy upon applying. Everything in His hands!

I cannot wait until the day when I am totally with Him either, totally devoted to Him in religious life. I am so in love with Him, and He is everything I want and need!

May we all have such joy in the Lord as you have, my sister in Christ!!

I echo St. Therese:

My only desire now is to love Jesus even to folly.–St. Therese of Lisieux

Nothing will make me deviate from God’s plan. I am joyful and triumphant! I am so full of love for the Divine Savior and He will be everything I want or need. No words can express how my heart feels right now. I feel like a bride about to meet her Bridegroom! (ok, I just made myself cry tears of happiness) That day will be oh, so sweet. 😃
