I also have a history of depression and am worried about that as well…it is nice to know that I’m not alone in that, and you recieved an application despite that! God Bless you!!!

Thank you, VanillaBean! I was very worried about the depression being a hindrance to my entrance, but, as the Lord so promised, He will provide if we ask Him. I asked Him to help me come off my anti-depressants safely, and that was 5 months ago and I am still doing great! I was honest with the novice mistress and I told her that I was on it but I am currently off it (at the time, I had only been off it for 4 months). She asked me why I was on it and whether or not I had come from a dysfunctional family or had a history of abuse. I have neither. I told her it stemmed from someone I knew dying in a car accident and the fact that I had to deal with my mortality at a very early age (16 years old). It wasn’t until I really grasped the magnitude of my Catholic faith that I started to understand why death is a necessary component of our life and that it is the final surrender before we can enter heaven’s gates. 🙂 I’m going to include that on my autobiography that I have to send with my application.

If you are worried, just be honest with the Superior. They WANT you to be honest because they don’t want to have a liar in the community. I told the Novice Mistress (who is also the superior of the house) that I was worried but I wanted to be honest, and she appreciated that very much.
