I Got Two Crucifixes for Free at a Thrift Store

Today, I saw two crucifixes, and a little plaque with a prayer on it at a local thrift store (this thrift store is part of a Protestant Church.) I asked the people there how much the crucifixes costed, and they said free, so I took them. I don’t know when they are from, one is wooden, and says made in China, and the other is plastic, and mentions no place it was made (it is possible that this one is older.)

I did not get the prayer plaque, but I assume that it was also free (I could be wrong.)

Either way, what is the best place to hang a crucifix? Above a door? On the wall somewhere? Should I get them blessed, or does it not really matter?
 
Good find! I’d hang it up on a wall so you can see it while you pray.

I’ve been getting lots of crosses lately. The other day, I was given a little stone cross by someone, and within minutes, another person also gave me another little stone cross!

The plastic crucifix. I’m not sure when it’s from. It has a little 1 in a circle on the back.





The wooden crucifix. This crucifix is probably from the 80s/90s, as it is made in China. It may be newer, but it seems that it’s older, as the made in China logo is a little oval, but I could be wrong.

Yes, get them blessed! Above a door or wherever you want on a wall where it is better to see.
 
You lucky thing! 👍

Try finding one around here to actually buy…impossible. I’d have to drive 45 minutes to “the Catholic store” to find a crucifix. :eek:
