Must be a God thing because I tried 7 regular diocesan parishes before trying this Eastern Catholic one. I think I am home. My husband is more at ease here, too. He gets his Divine Liturgy, I get to keep Papa Francis. Its all good. 😃

Praise the Lord.

Lucky!

I desperately wanted to join the Byzantine parish in our town, but there just weren’t enough children in it for my social son.

You have to start somewhere. Six years ago, we were the only family with children in our parish, and it had been that way for a number of years. Now, the place is teeming with kids. We’ve had several families comment on how nice it is to have so many little ones. Of course, I suspect that all the kids have driven a few older people away, as well.

Dear Babotchka:

We’re very happy in our current parish, but since I grew up in an area with lots of Onion Dome churches, the Eastern Rite will always be in heart. I still attend Divine Liturgy when I visit my mother.
