Today was my day to altar serve, and I had to go and extinguish the candles after Mass had finished. Well, I was walking by the tabernacle, and this calming, peaceful warmth surrounded me like someone was giving me a hug. Well, of course I was thinking, “What the heck is that?”, and I looked up to see if there was any light above making that feel that way, and nothing. The rest of the church was normal with a slight chill, but that one area right in front of the tabernacle was peacefully warm. I thought that was kind of cool. 🙂

It happens, from time to time, that Our Lord will give you a hug.

I’ve had it. Once. It was THE most grace filled moment I’ve ever experienced and when I tell the full tale of how it came to be, I’m usually quite overcome.

Savour the memory and never forget it or write it off as mundane. It will sustain you at future points in your life when you most need it.

God reaches down and touches us sometimes, it is so wonderful. He has the whole world in His hands but He takes the time to show His love to individuals. Incredible isn’t it!

:extrahappy: Wow - How great is our God!

Love and Peace to you my friend.

That’s awesome. That’s why I love when young men try altar serving. Could be God calling you to the priesthood. 🙂

The Eucharist (both Holy Communion and adoration) is the biggest source of vocations. Hands down. It’s strange, since there’s really nothing empirical about it. It’s always been a amazing thing to me, to see how Christ eagerly wants to be intimate with those he calls. Surely, humility pours down from heaven when you are ashamed of your faults but still humble yourself to receive God’s graces.

I’ve found with serving that it’s that physical closeness to the moment of consecration… it’s VERY special. I feel it like I was a child being trusted to do something responsible, which always delighted me.
