To add to what Besty said, the Sacrament of Reconciliation is soooo wonderful for cleansing our heart, souls, minds and bodies as the Holy Spirit purifies us inside and out. This is an example of a confession we had on the Sacraments Forum. These are not necessarily my sins,And one more suggestion (BTW, I’m really happy for you!) - take it all to confession and receive forgiveness for any part of the whole thing for which you may be culpable. You received a big infusion of grace to “see” what you had not understood before. Now you have a lot of joy - the sacramental grace from confession will sustain you when the joy fades a bit and you realize that sacrifice of your own will is not always easy. It will be a wonderful new beginning, especially during Advent.

For these sins and all the sins of my past life, especially the sins against…(mention the most important virtues, like Purity, Chastity, Honesty, Charity, Humility, etc.) I ask absolution and penance from you, Father.
Act of Contrition
O my God, I am heartily sorry
for having offended you.
I detest all my sins,
because I dread the loss of heaven
and the pains of hell;
but most of all because they offend you,
my God, who are all good
and deserving of all my love.
I firmly resolve, with the help of your grace,
to sin no more, to do penance,
and to amend my life. Amen.
