The sacraments have been around for 2000 years and there are still divisions
And WHY my friend is that:)

Might it be that it’s BECAUSE ONLY Catholics and the Orthodox have ALL SEVEN of them? And even within these ranks are unbelievers:eek:

Let us pray, know our faith well

Live it publicly

Share it when the HS gives us the opportunity to do so

& defend it with Charity and clarity [FACTS]🙂

God Bless you,

Patrick

There were divisions of faith even in St Paul’s time and as he predicted there still remains divisions. People from different faiths argue they’re right and others are wrong. Everyone thinks they’re right. It just drags on and the stubbornness can be so frustrating.

Makes me wonder what God is going to do to fix it…
In a comedy routine once, Chris Rock said this about OJ Simpson: “I’m not saying what he did wasn’t wrong, but (long pause) I understand.”
Caustic as that is, that quote springs to mind when I see certain people argue endlessly over religion. I’m not saying it’s right to be an atheist or just give up on church completely, but (long pause) I understand. 😉
Overeducated Primma Donnas who believe all wisdom and truth ends with them have the opposite effect with many people. How many ‘books’ has Pope Francis written? Maybe it would be better for these Primma Donnas to look to where true wisdom and spirituality reside, instead of endlessly arguing over who can ‘win’ the debate.
Give me a wise man like Pope Francis, ANY DAY over a Primma Donna trying to sell books.
Not speaking to any particular PDs. 😉

What are you supposed to do when someone insist on telling you the sky is pink 🤷

Try to understand why they see it that way, as it may indeed be pink. Two things to consider in Science is Un/in attentional blindness and Frame of Reference.

Both these can give you a different understanding how God can be seen and how we see or not see things in life.

How we can change is helped by understanding these two aspects of life.

Now you have to consider all we see is many colours refracted and processes by each individual. Of course you could keep saying the sky is Blue as that is what you see, but the pink sky is seen by the other person and unless we consider that both see what they see is correct for them, then our own selfish pride has got in the way.

On the other hand, there’s no controversy like religious controversy.

We are together, people. I truly believe this. The rest of it is just dissecting the Butterfly. 🙂

It will definitely happen soon. However, the muslims are also expecting the Mahdi to Return - he is also a Messiah.

So how will you react if their Messiah arrives before yours does? How will Christians react to a muslim Messiah?

We need to receive both the muslim Mahdi as well as Jesus when he returns with equal enthusiasm.

They will both resolve all the differences we have in our various religions once and for all.
We need to love all people as the Lord does. And, there is only one Lord, Jesus Christ, Second Person of the Blessed Trinity, Our Savior, the only Messiah!

I was thinkinh BOTH Validly & Licitily:)

You have them BUT with the forfeiture of DIRECT Apostolic succession [Henry 8th]; you no longer have ALL-SEVEN of them either validly or licitly.

LET us PRAY this changes!:signofcross:

OK:shrug:

So where in the bible, even one time did GOD {Yahweh or Jesus} ever

Permit, accept, tolerate, condone, overlook or even ignore competing sets of FAITH beliefs?

God BLESS you Friend!

Of course the bible does not say any such thing. The people who put together the bible would never have allowed such a statement.

However, when the muslim Mahdi as well as Jesus return to world (pretty soon), they may both say exactly that (probably not the ignore part). That will come as a great shock to most people of all faiths, so it is better to get used to it now.

So from YOUR perspective the Bible is NOT the Divinely INSPIRED WORDS of God:confused:

2nd Timothy 3 16-17 [16] All scripture, inspired of God, is profitable to teach, to reprove, to correct, to instruct in justice, [17] That the man of God may be perfect, furnished to every good work."

Additionally to this fact lies a 2,000 year HISTORY of the Best Book ever written:thumbsup:

There is in the BIBLE many examples of GOD NOT tolerating other faiths; in FACT ots the 1st Commandment.

God Bless you,

PJM

Of course the NT is inspired by God - inspired by Jesus himself.

However not every word in it is the truth (for instance in Paul’s epistle, I think it says that women should stay silent and never try to teach men - I don’t think that is correct, do you?). However every word spoken by Jesus himself in the Bible is correct.

Also the Bible does not contain ALL the truth - somethings are still missing, which will be filled in when the Christ returns. So the fact there is more than one religion that is true, will be made clear only on the Return of the Christ.

If one quotes one verse and then suggests his own view"it’s not right" then this is eisegesis.

Thanks for your reply my friend,🙂

The Bible consist of 47 books in the OT & 27 books in the NT

Either it is entirely inspired or NONE of it is [we obviously it is:thumbsup:]

When I was still teaching our faith in classrooms *; I taught this:

The Bible is ALWAYS true; BUT its NOT always factual.

It led to some interesting conversations. The KEY being f couse not everything in the bible is literally true as stated.

I disagree with your final conclusion:

NOT ONE TIME in the Entire bible has God ever:

Tolerated
Permitted
Allowed
Accepted
condoned
or even overlooked other competing faiths.

God Bless you,

PJM*

For former Pope Benedict XVI

“THERE CANNOT BE YOUR TRUTH AND MY TRUTH OR THERE WOULD BE NO TRUTH”🙂

**Please provide at least ONE biblical example where GOD [Yahweh or Jesus] even on time

permitted
tolerated
accepted
allowed
condoned
or even ignored [over-looked] other faiths; which by logic & definition have to be competing faith beliefs**

God Bless you,

PJM

MJ
eisegesis
(Theology) the interpretation of a text, esp a biblical text, using one’s own ideas. Compare exegesis
[C19: from Greek eis into, in + -egesis, as in exegesis]
eisegesis
the introduction by an interpreter of his own ideas into a text under explication

Blessings
