I hate them, too! We are in a severe drought here in S Florida, so the huge Palmetto bugs are making their way into the house in search of water; I found one in my bath tub the other night. My roommate blasted it with roach killer-- no effect at all. Five minutes later it was still crawling around the tub, so I blasted it with Scrubbing Bubbles (the tub cleaner), and within seconds it was dead. I don’t know what’s in the cleanser, but I’m keeping it on hand from now on!
 
I am moving into an apartment, and this starts to worry me about my confrontation with these little friendly creatures. 😃
 
I don’t have any tips, just want to join in with an :eek: I get the occasional centipeed and that’s enough to totally gross me out!

You shouldn’t have problems if you bomb before moving in, keep the place clean (especially of food scraps) and lay down roach baits.
 
Unless your neighbors aren’t clean – then you’re out of luck! In an apartment building, roaches can travel through the walls from apartment to apartment.

Let’s see… then you can get some rattlesnakes to eat the sewer rats, bald eagles to eat the rattlesnakes, and raccoons to raid the eagles’ nests. Then you can bring in some coyotes to take care of the raccoons, and then grizzly bears to get rid of the coyotes. Then when the cold weather comes, the bears hibernate, and you’ve got your house back again!
