Would it not bother you if someone took your Holy Book, your Quran, revealed to your Prophet, and began a new cult misinterpreting and reading things into the Quran that simply weren’t there (say that Mohammed was a reincarnation of Moses, that Mohammed was God, that Muslims should pray facing Rome because Islam sprang from Catholicism, instead of Mecca) ???
There is already a mechanism in Islam to deal this this. They follow the instructions given by Muhammed in the hadith which states:
“Whoever changes his (islamic) religion, kill him”
This is why sharia law prescribes the death penalty to apostates, or those who convert from islam or modify or degrade true islam(whatever that is).

So if I bought a copy of the Torah can I start my own sect of Judaism or if I bought a Quran could I start my own sect of Islam? The reason I ask is because that is exactly what is happening with the Catholic faith. The Holy Bible is our Bible written for our religion for use in our church. We were first called Christians by non-Christians because we followed Christ. They used the term to single us out so they would know who to persecute. What gives you non-Catholics(excluding orthodox) the right to take our Bible, start your own religion and call yourselves by our persecuted name. To truly have Faith in Christ is to trust and believe in the Church he founded. In almost every debate on this forum Catholics will defend their reasoning by saying Jesus said this and non-catholics will almost always say but Paul said this!
Did i see wrongly, or you typed wrongly ? what is with you ?? wanted to create even more distant btw catholic and protestant is it ?? pls be careful about your sentense…very sensitive

There can’t be more distance between Catholics and Protestants. Protestants are heretics and preach and practice things that are not the Truth. Only the Catholic Church holds the fullness of the Truth. A Catholic should not want to get any closer to protestant theology since they would be moving away from the Truth and into lies.

The truth and fullest of God are to those who speaks will wisdom to influence others not piercing words. 😃 more for you to catch up with your truth

Wow, I guess we just didn’t know you had the copywrite and that you owned God.

By the way, just because Jesus founded it does not mean some Catholics along the way didn’t “change” somethings - and I didn’t know to follow God you had to make things up and change what is said.

just because it was the first, doesn’t mean it hasn’t been changed. I mean, for example, marriage for priests was not banned until later by Catholics. From what I understand this was done to “save” church land that was being claimed by children of priests. Things have been added in such as purgatory. I see some saying Protestants are twisting what the bible says, but I also see plenty of this on the Catholic side.

Of course they do - but don’t you feel inclined to do anything to help them see that they’re in error? They’re condemning their eternal souls by continuing on their Satanic path, and you can help (potentialy) save them.

Why are you here if not to discuss your religion with us? Why discuss it if you’ve no hopes that at least some of us will be drawn towards it and away from Satan’s clutches?
This was meant for Sister Amy, but I had to comment on the arguments you proposed.

I feel inclined to “share” the faith, but not to force it down their throats. The state of their souls is between God and them. Just because you think they are in error and their soul is in peril doesn’t mean that God sees it that way.

It is the work of the Holy Spirit to draw men unto God, not you. You are just an instrument of God’s grace. You are not an instrument of God’s condemnation.

Peace…

Thank you for sharing that we are all heretics. Your church documents declare us “separated brethren”. I don’t really care what you call us or how you define us. I’ll leave that to the Ultimate Judge and if I am wrong, He will show me and I will suffer the consequences. I would rather be in the hands of a just God rather than a creature He made who thinks I am in his mortal hands.

Of course you can. Every human being has the right by the Father to follow reason and conscience. What does it matter to you anyway? You have your faith and are comfortable with it. Who made you the judge of your fellow creatures?

to the OP, were you visited by an angel who told you all previous scriptures are corrupt:p because if this this the case, we’ll be lost between you, Muhammad, Joseph Smith ecc ecc 😉

I’d say no, we’ve had enough of “angelic” visits 😉

Do you disbelieve in visits of angels?

Do you disbelieve in visits of angels?
of course not.

I disbelieve in the visits of “angels” who give different teachings and oppose the credibility of God’s Word. After all, isn’t this what satan did, when he made Adam and Eve doubt God’s word? there is a clear warning in the Bible specifically about this. So the “angel” who visits must be assessed by the Biblical message and not the Bible with the angel’s claims.
