I Did a Balance transfer through my bank.
I accidentally gave them the wrong address, it was the right bank, just the wrong address. The address where the bank went too cashed the BT check and didn’t apply it to the balance I wanted to pay off.

I tried to cancel the payment, but I was too late. I just happened to check my account about a week later and noticed the balance I wanted to pay off did not change.

My bank sent me copy of the processed check and I was told by the bank that cashed the check that they would send the money back (in the form of a check)

As of yet they have not returned the check.

They cannot just keep this money. I’m in twice as much debt as I was before.

I basically bought debt.

This is something I pay attention to everyday of the week and sometimes more than once in a single day as I have been hacked twice and had several other attempts of hacking. I have a very good bank and they notify me of any withdrawals over a certain amount. You can apply for this feature, also, and it is free. You can also sign up for automatic bill pay through your bank which will save you a lot of time and/or late fees.

Take matters into your own hands and call your debtors and explain what happened and why. Most are willing to work with you, depending on the circumstances. You need to jump on this post haste and not wait for advice from CAF members.

I am sure you will get your check, but not as quickly as you wish. The banks have certain procedures they must go through, too. In the future PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR FINANCES! I always check my deposits more than one and also withdrawals and bill paying, too. Of course, I will pray that everything works out and in your favor Peace and prayers.

If at all possible, go to the bank in person and get it cleared right away with a customer service desk clerk and not a teller at the window. This happens quite often and takes months sometimes to straighten it all out. I’m sorry this happened and has caused you so much inconvenience. Praying for a smooth transaction in correcting this.
