Ditto.

I for one, sympathize with them. I didn’t become a Catholic to be part of a lukewarm faith where a Mass is like a social hour around a water cooler.

So you are a sedevacantist? That explains the rubbish you are spewing. Evil and sin did not start with Vatican 2. Try the Fall.

Nothing wrong with equality. Christ preached and lived it.

You have insulted most Catholics by your statement of how we see the Mass.

Sedes are not faithful to the Holy See.
:amen:

=BVMFatima;10202841]Thanks for your answers! I was also told from the Sedevacantists that Pope Paul VI changed the name Roman Catholic to Latin Rite because he felt Rome was full of smoke of the devil
Latin dates back to when Saint Jerome was directed by the Pope to translate “all” of the various language bibles into what was then the NORM: Latin.

So Greet, Hebrew and Latin [the language of Rome] became only “Latin”. The Latin Vulgate Bible is the result. http://www.latinvulgate.com/
and it became and REMAINS the NORM for the Universal Catholic Church. Has been for about 1,600 YEARS:D

They are no more faithful to the Holy See than the Orthodox, who are faithful to the Holy See that existed before they claim it lost the faith through the intoduction of the Filioque.

Unfortunately, many people have a hagiographicized idea of Church history and compare the Church of today, with its many problems, to some idealized past that doesn’t exist.

All the things you mentioned have happened before and to the same degree. Read St. Peter Damian’s Book of Gomorrah, the letters of St. Bernard, the unabridged Dialogue and letters of St. Catherine of Siena, the letters of St. Bridget, the letters of St. Basil, the autobiograph of St. Anthony Mary Claret, the letters of St. Vincent Ferrer–read the Saints of every era you’ll see them lamenting the same problems over and over again.

The exact same complaints made by sedes now were made by the first sede, St. Hippolytus (he was reconciled to Pope St. Pontianus and martyred with him). He complained of heresy of Popes Sts. Zephynius and Callistus I, that they were practicing false ecumenism (ie they were trying to water down the faith to unite heretics and orthodox believers under their leadership), that their Church was too lax about sin, that they permitted too many invalid marriages, and that the people even were engaged in widespread contraception use.

See chapters 1, 2, 6, and 7 here (the work is on “all” heresies, and these chapters deal with those of the purported Catholic Church of Sts. Zephyrinius and Callistus):

newadvent.org/fathers/050109.htm

Just replace Sabellianism with Modernism, and the names of Sts. Callistus and Zephyrinius and others with those of more recent Popes and churchmen, and it sounds very much like it could be written by a sede today.

My dear friend in Christ,

We have limited control over the “Gathering Spaces” [Bishops term for what used to be “churches”]. And the other changes as well.:o

BUT that ought not be permitted to effect OUR personal Worship.

Find the Eucharistic Chapel and spend time with our God.👍

Participate actively at Mass which DOES make Christ present to us.🙂

God WILL judge us based on what WE CHOOSE to do. Let God worry about everything else. Amen

Stay cloese to God AND he WILL stay close to us.

Today I was in a conversation with Sedevacantists who claimed the modern day Roman Catholic Church is in a great apostasy because it was supposely taken over by freemasons at Vatican II. They also claimed that the Pope is an “anti pope” and that the thrid secret of Fatima warned the Church would fall. I was wondering, how do I respond to such nonsense? Please help, because this kind of makes me want to leave the Church due to fear as in if this was true.

God Bless,
BVMFatima
Do yourself an immense favor. Run, don’t walk, away from them and don’t ever look back. Please. You will live to regret it if you don’t.

I will keep you in my prayers.
