I’ve asked almost every girl out at my gym. I am now a creep.

Every job I’ve applied for I’ve lost. Including a recent one I thought was promising. It was only 9.50 an hour, and I can’t even get that.

I have no car. I have no home. I live with my father. I’m 38.

I’ll never have a beautiful wife, much less a family. I’ll never contribute anything to the life God gave me. I will leave no legacy. I will exit the world with barely a notice. No one thinks about me or if they do they regard me with contempt, hatred, or pity. I have failed at life.

I feel like an alien that no one can relate to. I feel like a loser. I feel like a waste.

I don’t know where to go. I don’t know what to do. I try and see the bigger picture. I try to be a good son and uncle, and brother and friend. I try to give myself to others and I like doing that. But when I do that it draws out and sharpens my loneliness.

No one likes me. I’m tired of finding something funny and having no one to share it with. I’m tired of not having the money I need to take care of my family.

I’m lost. I’m a failure. Even this post repulses me. Because all it will generate is pity. And I feel like a fraud.

I don’t know why I exist or why I feel so lonely or how I even got here. Everything is hopeless. And I feel like a fool for plodding along hoping for a change.

God Bless you Norm. Please have faith that God has a plan for you. Try your best to respond to His graces everyday, and know that He is with you always. Trusting that He hears you, ask Him gently and sincerely for help. He will not let you down.

The purpose of life is to fall in love with God. If that is not your center and target for all that other stuff you mentioned that acts as a conduit to Him…then even if you had a wife etc etc… it would be improper.

Find God, He is the purpose of your life!

Who says it isn’t my center? Don’t be glib.

Hey…said a prayer for you.
May God be with you and direct you in regards to work and future plans.

Maybe there is a good priest you could talk with about how you feel.
God bless you!

NORM BUDDY you may think 38 is old to marry but its never to late. Maybe you are looking in the wrong area for a wife. Have you tried Catholic Match. Their are people on their your age as well looking for someone. www.catholicmatch.com

One thing I want to tell you is that a women likes a man with confidents and to find someone you must be happy with yourself in order to make another happy as well.

I’m just learning this as well. and I’m 30. Be happy with who you are and what you have. The rest will take care of it on its own.

Also you may live with your father but you also help him out as well. Even if you drive him to the supermarket you are doing good and God will be happy with you. Everyday instead of thinking that you are a failure, before you go to bed think of one good thing you did during the day no matter how small it may be. Every little small thing you do are not failures in the eyes of GOD.

[BIBLEDRB]john 9:1-5[/BIBLEDRB]

We all have our different gifts and different crosses
and life seems unfair at times, like innocent babies being aborted

[BIBLEDRB]Revelation 21:1-8[/BIBLEDRB]

But we know that life is all too short
and there is a life beyond this life that is eternal

Hang on, keep the faith:)

You are not a waste or failure Norm. You are a child of God, made in his image & likeness. Remember God loves you & always will. Praying to the Holy Spirit to give you guidance, direction, strength & fortitude in your time of need. God bless you, Norm.

I’m a bit surprised that no one asked this yet! Have you seen a professional? It sounds like you are in the throes of depression… Doctors and psychiatrists can prescribe medication and it can work wonders!! I’ll be praying for you, but please try to seek some medical/mental/emotional help.
Cheers,
Drew

May I offer you my support, prayers and concern as I would do anything to help you rise above these feelings if it were possible. I will pray for you and I hope you will consider drew_neill’s suggestion of seeking counseling. God has blessed many people with the ability to help people like yourself sort through these issues and rise above them in counseling sessions. If possible, please try to find someone to help.

Memorare

REMEMBER, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly to thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

In life we are not called to be successful; We are called to be faithful

If it helps, I can say that I don’t feel sorry for you. 😛

We all have our crosses to bear. This is yours. Yes, it stinks. But don’t lose hope.

My friend,

Life is not about the past. You feel you haven’t accomplished those things you thought you wanted to. So what? The question you have to answer, the one that defines success or failure, is what are you going to do now?

It’s not about how many times life knocks you down - it’s about how many times you get back up again.

You have two choices, wallow in your perception of the past or look to the future full of possibilities.

If you want a scriptural reference look to the Book of Job.

Who says it isn’t my center? Don’t be glib.
I think you need to reexamine this, and what it means to have Christ Jesus at the center of your life. Im not trying to be rude, and it seems you take offense to this suggestion, but all I am saying is that by your own words it appears to me you may not understand what it means to be living for Christ Jesus. Seems to me others see this too since it was suggested here, and maybe elsewhere, …maybe you should take a closer look at what this means?

How often do you read Scripture, or speak to others (in discussion) about God? Maybe getting involved in a Bible study would be something good for you right now. That’s my suggestion to you. I know from your posts you suffer from OCD, so it may not be that easy for you, but try to anyway…maybe an online bible study would be good, one that meets often or at least once a week. I think you need to hear others speak about God and their faith walk. God is the God of all and iron sharpens iron.

St. Padre Pio said something to effect that our sufferings are gold and if people knew how valuable they were they’d covet them.

What a wonderful Psalm! Pray this with gratitude to God, and ask for mercy. He loves you unimaginably. You are His child. Precious soul you are a unique unrepeatble and essential part of Our Father’s Simple Plan for Salvation. Let nothing created satisfy you. Seek the face of God and live.

My Jesus Mercy.

Peace

Nothing is hopeless with God. Stand up brush yourself off and keep walking you will find what God wants for you.

If you want to see a real loser, Norm, watch the movie Don Jon. He (the character in the movie) is transformed when he learns to be in relation with another.

I am a great deal like you, sad to confess. But my life was transformed when I suddenly found myself in relation with another. I can only describe the event as a grace (what I used to see as “luck”) so I have no advice to offer, other than not to abandon the hope of God’s grace.

PS I will offer some on-line advice. Stop trying to pick up girls at the gym. That is the last place women want to get hit on.
