I don’t know what I’m suppose to respond and say…
I called catholic charities, churches, social services, housing link etc… NONE have funding. So right now, we are waiting to be thrown out for good. Oh, and the shelter has a waiting list a mile long, so pretty sure we will be homeless. There really is nothing else to say. So, I guess my attitude is solely based on depression and I need psychiatric help. Has nothing to do with my situation.
I am so very sorry to hear about the lack of help that you have found. Someone earlier in the thread offered to make calls for you if you would contact her via private message; did you try that? Do you have extended family who you can live with temporarily?

Again, I will pray for you and your family.

My name is Camille bruno Valdez my partner and I have been trying for a baby for over two years now, We were going to a fertility clinic for about 5 months before somebody told us to contact this spell caster who is so powerful, We contacted him at this email; arewaspecialisttemple@yahoo.com, for him to help us, then we told him our problem, he told us that we will either conceive in February 2014 or March 2014,but after two years of trying we were at a point where we were willing to try anything. And I’m glad we came to Dr Dahiru, Because his pregnancy spell cast put us at ease, and I honestly believe him, and his gods really helped us as well, I am thankful for all he has done. contact him via email: arewaspecialisttemple@yahoo.com if you are trying to get a baby or want your lover back. he has powers to do it, he has done mine

One thing Ive learned from this thread is that all of us on the greener side, in our stability and comfort know all of the theories on how to get help, but until we’re actually in that situation, it’s another story completely and is nowhere as easy as we’d thought. Life teaches different lessons. Yes there are homeless shelters, but as OP noted they’re all full and not as readily available and that is the reality and harshness of life. Help and assistance is not as abundant as we think. I feel like people just brush OPs situation off lightly with theoretical advice and with a tone of simplicity, yet her situation sounds very severe and scary.

TSB4, everyone is concerned about you and the family. Different parts of the country have different orginazations to help out. How did you all get in such sad shape?Did your husband lose his job by getting laid off? My sister in New York got laid off from her job. It took her awhile to finally get a job, like a year or so.If you lived here in Texas in the San Antonio area
they are having a job fair for the oil industry and I have seen other job openings for your husband working for various companies.

I don’t see how none of these agencies don’t have any funding, but they can sure seem to help illegals in this country .Sorry folks, but it isn’t right.

There has to be someone your family can stay with, certainly relatives? Can’t they help you out somehow with the electric and water bill? I don’t own any rental homes, but if I had a tenant in the same situation I would try to help them out, especially if they were a good tenant.
Maybe if we had some sort of idea how things got to this point we might be able to figure some place that you could get help. Here we have also Haven For Hope as well as Samm’s Ministeries for homeless people and families. Maybe the thing to do would be contact the local tv station about your plight. WOAI has The Defenders and KENS5 has Eye Witness Wants to Know, and KSAT12 has something similar. People turn to them for help when they have problems with car dealers, contractors, etc. Don’t see why the tv stations by you couldn’t do a story on your family.Sometimes strangers will help out .Here when someone is even murdered or killed in an accident, they will mention in the story about making donations for burial expenses to help these families.
I understand why you are upset and depressed. You want to help your family, you are concerned for your kids and feel nothing is going right and no where to turn. We all want to help .

It is not a sign of depression to admit that your situation is extremely stressful and difficult to endure. It is not a sign of depression to mourn when someone dies and it is not a sign of depression to feel deep apprehension at the prospect of losing your home.

Your husband is with you and finding ways to bring in money. Share your apprehensions with him, and be thankful that you and your children are not facing this crisis alone. Where a lone man may be overcome, two together can resist. A three-ply cord is not easily broken. Eccl. 4:12. Try to be there for your husband and allow him to be there for you. You two are going to get through this. You two are going to find the help you need.

Hang in there and pray for courage and relief. Do not let anyone tell you that you have no grounds to cry out to God. Of course you do! Cry out to Him to shake some trees and get some help for you, and to do so without any more delay. When help is offered, be thankful, and then grab onto it. If God grabbed you and shook you to help someone else, you would do it. Let him use you to shake someone that He has been trying to grab. None of us are any less needy than you are, none of us less dependent on God for our daily bread. We are just in circumstances that lets us lie to ourselves about our “independence.” Perhaps you were like the rest of us in that regard; don’t let that misconception stop you, when you finally do find a source of help. You have nothing to be ashamed of, and no less dignity than you ever had. Love your children, love your husband, be his helpmate even through this awful time, be their mother even in this awful time, keep your eyes raised up, and hang in there. You can get through this. (Of course you need help. What of it? Even Our Lord was given Simon of Cyrene, and Simon did not come looking for the work…)

I hope you mean we should be seeing to it that all are cared for in their own homeland, yes? Otherwise, what would you be saying? That they should go back to where they came from and starve there, and that would be “right”? Let us not allow our compassion for the OP make us forget that all those who are " hungry, thirsty, a stranger, ill or in prison" are not only our brothers and sisters before God, but Christ Himself, in the disguise from which we are to be judged worthy of eternal life or eternal punishment.

Don’t ever blame someone for doing what they have to do in order to feed their families. It is only what any of us would do. Besides, while some come here and get public aid, most who come here in violation of our sovereign borders do work that those of us here legally will not do or cannot do, because of physical inability. They usually “take” the hardest-to-fill jobs, because let’s face it: employers don’t hire people with no papers and no ability to speak the local language when an English-speaking local is lined up to do the work, instead. They are violating the law, yes, but they do it from extremity, in an effort to keep body and soul together. It would be better if their extremity was tended to in their own country, but the ideal of refusing to watch your children starve trumps the ideal of respecting the justice of borders. No sovereign border justifies hardness of heart.

We got the letter from the sheriff today. To make matters worse, my landlord is suing for damages to the house. Stuff that isn’t even damaged. I swear. The devil wins… I called the suicide hotline. I have done everything I was advised, to no avail. I surrender.

Keep calling whenever you feel down.

Also, start calling other local shelters–there has to be space somewhere within an hour’s drive. If you show up, nobody is going to put a pregnant lady with four kids out on the street. They will find a place for you. Just keep calling and make sure they know you’re coming. Don’t stop calling until somebody, somewhere, has an answer for you.

Be packed up for when the day comes so you have all necessary stuff handy and don’t leave anything crucial behind in the confusion.

The landlord is not even a concern. If you can’t pay, you can’t pay, and nobody can make you pay if you don’t have money. But take pictures just in case, if you can.

And yes–no matter how dire your material conditions are, your issues are at least 50% mental. When you feel better, you’ll realize that.

Can you get your husband home so he can help you guys move out in good order? Can you stay with his mom (or your mom, temporarily)?

Start making a packing list (you can take more if you have a car).

Here’s a minimum list, in case your car is gone and you have to carry everything:

–all ID for everybody
–insurance cards
–phone #s

–chargers
–phones

–diapers (as needed)
–baby wipes
–plastic bags for laundry and odds and ends

–snacks
–sippies as needed
–a couple bottles for water (it’s getting hot)

–basic toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.)

–stroller (as needed–can be very handy to use as a rolling luggage cart)

–a couple of changes of clothes for everybody, maybe some pjs, lots of underwear, lots of socks (the bulk adds up, though)

–a few small toys for the littlest kids

–backpacks for all the kids who have them

Your big kids can carry a lot if they have little backpacks or rolling suitcases–mine have managed little backpacks since about three and rolling suitcases since about four.

Come to think of it, now would be a good time to sell stuff. If you have internet, you can post stuff on Craigslist. A dollar here and there (or $5 or $10) for stuff you can’t take with you could add up very quickly. I would start doing that now if you haven’t already.

Best wishes!

What do you mean by “surrender”? You aren’t going to leave the care of your children on the lap of your surviving husband, right? You aren’t going to take it upon yourself to commit the murder of your own person? You do realize that a suicide is a murder, right?

If you have to call the suicide hotline back, then call them back. Call your husband. Call everyone you called before you were actually evicted. Call anyone you can think of to call, even if you have already called them, because your situation has worsened. Keep in touch with somebody.

For everyone who turns you down, ask them for the number of the person they would call in your situation or what they would do in your situation. If they say, “I don’t know,” then say, “You mean you’d give up? OK–guess! Give me ideas! I’m grasping at straws here. I just need ideas for one more place to put a foot in front of the other. One more step to take, one more person to ask.” Ask for someone, anyone, to help you advocate for yourself and your family, someone to help you to make phone calls and look for answers. Hang on and keep knocking on doors. Just one phone call at a time. Just help for one more day. You can do it, and you can get them to do it. You can!

Too many mouths to feed, not enough money I believe she said.

Exactly!

Keep talking to different people until something changes for the better. And like Easter Joy says, if people don’t know, ask them, “Who would you call if you were me?”

And get your husband home as quick as you can.

Yes! Where is he right now? Is he home with you? Can he help pack? Did he get some odd jobs while he was away? When is he returning? Where will you meet up with him?
Will his parents help out? Can you stay with them for a bit?
let us know, we are all praying hard for you…truly.

Dear Forum members, please go to the Prayer Intentions Forum, and offer a prayer for our sister TSB4. Let’s storm heaven until she gets the help she needs!

OP, we understand how hard this to do is when you are discouraged. Make *one *call. Congratulate yourself. Think of maybe one more call. Take courage, be stouthearted, but do not try to see the whole way out of this. One call at a time, one day at a time, and even one minute more at a time, if that is what it takes. You are aiming for a landing you will all walk away from. That is all!! *You do not have to win the war to get the Purple Heart, dear lady, dear mother, dear heart! The Medal of Honor is awarded for valor and pluck in the face of grave danger, not for success. The highest award is for standing and acting when every fiber tells the soldier to run. *You don’t have to be a general or have control over anything. You only have to gather up the courage to take one for the team, this time, in this battle, in whatever little way is available to you. Whatever the outcome, you will deserve praise for your courage and perseverance. Hang in there!!!
