Most doors in a house aren’t elephant friendly. In addition its not to show how difficult belief in God is, that is quite easy. Its the belife that the church is the one and only conduit for Gods truth.

Perhaps what we have going here is what’s called a ‘practical’ Religion and a ‘working’ Faith.
Like you, I see God’s fingers in a lot of things/people… the world He created; the people He inspires… in todays world. This is the Faith working.
Also, I learn more about this Faith, through the Church, it aids with trying to understand some of what Faith already knows but finds difficulty in articulating (as when others see what you are doing and ask questions). The Bible, the Church (as the Body of Christ)(the other parishioners), the further Theology as known by the Clergy (the Shepherds of the Church Body), help with this what is ‘known’ but not fully ‘understood’.
These help that (working) Faith, to move out of the Soul and into the mind (intellect), then to the body (action) as a common Religion (becoming practical)… and there it is ‘shared’ with the rest of the Church Body (parishioners) (even on this web-site) for the aid and uplifting of the ‘whole’ Church.
It all starts with Faith. Then with water and fertilizer, add some sunshine and it will grow. That candle, is meant to lighten the room it is in, not be hide ‘under a basket’ leaving the room still dark. It then becomes a part of our ‘practical’ life… and shared with and by others on the same journey.

The church was founded by Jesus for one reason: To

I feel for you im sorry to hear about all your going through on top of your illness i will pray for you as far as the trouble your going through with religion i would only tell you to learn the truth all you have to do is just start reading your king james bible at matthew when ever you get a chance read the thruth is in his word you need no extra books or anything is not Gods word perfect everyone is trying to put their twist on it and that is what is confusing people tradition needs to be thrown out the window the bible is all we need thats why the heavenly father left it for us i hear so many questions people ask and the answer is right in the scriptures like someone earlier this week asked well said that jesus was crucified up side down when in john 19:30 i says that Jesus bowed his head and gave up the ghost and you can’t bow your head when your upside down your head would go back right and someone asked if women could be ordained and in 1tim 2:9-15 it is told that women should not teach men they should be silent everyone can say but the times have changed yeah but the bible doesn’t his word was the same then is the same now and will always be the same and will be here long after were gone just read learn the word of god pray to jesus and he will lead you in the right direction

Thank you for your sympathies. I am adjusting well and was attending church with my Anglican (protestant/heretic to the hardcore ubertrads) wife.
The bible is essentially compiled by the RCC. In the reformaton the protestants picked and chose (as the RCC did) what pieces to have in it. The KJ Bible has no significance over any other translation.
Anyway in essence my disbelief comes from a lack of faith and a lack of understanding/acceptance/belief of some critical doctrines like Original Sin

im glad to hear your doing better thats wonderful news and what is the original sin i keep hearing about it but don’t really know what it is and what is the RCC is that like an concordance of the scriptures of the bible and in some cases the king james version does have significance over other bibles have you heard about theres another bible with books that were supposed to be missing is being printed and sold as the bible when all along king james and constintine everybody told them to keep those books out because they are fake and they proved it because the whole old testament which they are supposed to belong to was written in hebrew these books were written in greek and the books contradict them selves i guess they thought people wouldn’t read them through or just belive them because they were calling them holy scriptures if you want to check them out you can find them on the internet i’ll find the site and let you know or you can go to www.jesus-is-lord .com go twords the bottom you’ll find them there called apothocary or something like that but yeah sir im glad to hear your doing better god bless you and i pray that god will in crease your faith and turn your disbelife into belife i’ve been where you are now at least with my faith i had to hit rock bottom i thought i was going to lose my life i hit my knee’s and prayed and prayed i started reading my bible the book of james to strengthen my faith learning about the purpose of the test that we have to go through and how i Have to resist temptation and to strengthen my faith james is one of my favorite books now im telling you the bible has all the answers i started going to church reading my bible everyday i get home from work i used to complain and want more like money and material things and the things i had Jesus helped me fix all i have im so thankful for im so happy now im really happy never thought i would be all i had to do is give my life to the lord sir i quit smoking drinking all cold turkey and i want not i love it god bless you ill pray for you keep your faith with god everything will be alright

For those who are going through an illness: I know it’s hard- I was diagnosed with a serious case of chronse just six months ago (cured it with diet in 4 months- not on any medications now. 
) and on Sundays I sometimes could barely stand without holding myself up in mass. I will tell you three things that helped me the most during that time (besides diet):

- Lots of relaxation- i.e., reading, back massages from Mom, tea, aromatherapy, being happy, etc.
- Lots of sunshine and fresh air.
I found that God never sends us suffering without a very good reason. I would suggest getting a Divine Mercy picture and St. Louis De Montfort’s Consecration to Our Lady. Learn to trust God enough to give Him complete control over your life; once you do, you will experience a great peace in the midst of battle and will find the strength to pick up your cross and go on. I know you have probably been told this a million times, but offer it up! (I recommend a Lighthouse Catholic Media CD: “Making Sense out of Suffering.”) You will find that when you offer up your sufferings, not only do you and others merit from it, but this will motivate you and give you the strength to endure all for the One who endured all for you- the all merciful and loving Jesus.
