hello all. this might be offensive so, if you wish to not be offended, please don’t read or comment.

i know this is a touchy subject that most will disagree but i find it perfectly normal and healthy to regularly masturbate. i have never ever felt guilty or disgusted with this. i find not only a stress release but a way to sleep with less anxiety.

i have sinned, and when i do, i have guilt, i know God is telling me i messed up. i have done things that are enjoyable that are also sinful that i have felt guilty about and struggled with, but i have gotten through.

my question is, did God just not give me guilt about this? i find no Biblical evidence that this is wrong.

also, i was previously married, i saved myself and had never had sex or masturbated, i was in a catholic marriage and my wedding night was nothing short of scarring. i didn’t understand my body. i didn’t know what i was doing and it was awful. i was married for 2 years (another story).
now that i am out of that and live a life of what i find to be a healthy amount of masturbating i am not afraid of sex and look forward to when that might happen.

why does God want me to have a sexual life of fear and anxiety?

I can’t speak for your wedding night or marriage, that belongs in a Catholic councellors room.

Even if you feel no guilt, the action is still gravely disordered and wrong and offensive to God. Don’t rely on feelings. Rely on what Christ commanded, and what Christ commands through His Church. If you don’t feel guilty, perhaps you should start reading up on why masturbating is wrong. Will help you understand things a bit better I think.

what bible verse says it is wrong?

It is extremely hard to masturbate without experiencing lust. Masturbation itself is not necessarily a sin, but the lust is.
God does not want you to have a rough sex life, but rather a sex life that is special, and devoted to the love of your life.
I suggest working through the sexual issues by talking to your spouse about your insecurities. If they are Christian as well, then they will certainly understand.

Hope I could help! 🙂

God bless

I find it hard to believe that you would post about something you do not feel guilty about. Regardless if you truly do not feel guilty about this then this could be from a lack of understanding on what sin is and how it affects you. Personally I think you probably have an addiction to masturbation and therefore your will has been affected by your dependency on masturbation.

God doesn’t give people guilt but rather your actions produce guilt because they oppose what it’s good and there is never a valid reason to oppose what is good. The "no evidence in the Bible to condemn masturbation’ is not a very strong argument since I could just as validly tell you there is also “no evidence in the Bible that supports or encourages the practice of masturbation.” This is the very reason for why we have a Church and Sacred Tradition. The Church Christ founded says it’s gravely sinful therefore God has said masturbation is gravely sinful.

The fear you have is not a holy fear and therefore not from God. Unfortunately the fear you have is most likely from a distorted view of what think sex should be like.

when/where did god say masturbation is a sin?
and i think it is a pretty valid arguement. the bible doesn’t say i should brush my hair, yet i do that. the bible doesn’t say i should eat chinese food, yet i do. the bible say i shouldn’t curse, so i don’t, it says i shouldn’t have false idols, so i don’t… i abide by the Bible says. just that simple.

I will show you where the Bible says masturbation is wrong when you provide me with the verse that says it’s ok.

i said the Bible didn’t mention it. which is doesn’t.
but since it doesn’t mention it, should i know assume that absolutely everything is wrong??
how do you know whats wrong or right with that logic?

what bible verse says it is wrong?
The Bible has several verses which talk about purity, and the immorality of sexual perversion. If you’re looking for a verse that spells it out for you, you won’t find it. Just like you won’t find a verse that spells out the Trinity, nor will you find a verse that says all things are contained in the Bible and must come from the Bible.
Masturbation itself is not necessarily a sin
False. Yes, it is a sin even apart from lust. It is gravely disordered use of ones sexual faculties and thus, it is sinful.

true, the bible speaks of sexual perversion. but my idea and your idea of sexual perversion may be different.

My logic rightfully understands that not everything Christians need to know about is contained in a Book. If it was there wouldnt have been a need for a Church. When we have questions on teaching and morals where does the Bible say we go? Does Christ say take them to the Bible or does He say take them to the Church? I go to His Church which can trace its history back to the apostles. You go to your own authority in attempt to justify your sinful ways. That’s some sound logic you have my friend.

The Magisterium.
why not just believe what the infallible Bible says opposed to fallible men?

also, what happened before the magisterium? were people just sent to hell because God forgot to tell the magisterium to tell the people what is worthy of a ticket to hell??

why is the Bible not enough?

i find it confusing that you say you’re christian then treat me with sarcasm. this is what i have always been disgusted by with Christians.

the Bible speaks of the church for fellowship, and yes to answer questions, not because they aren’t in the Bible but because they are more educated in the Bible than most. that’s not to say they can add whatever they think is sinful to the law books.
if it all isn’t in the Bible doesn’t that mean the Bible isn’t perfect?

Who do you think wrote the infallible Bible but man? If man wrote the Bible under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit then the Church has the mark of infalliblity since the Churhc is what? Yeah it’s the body of believers which existed before the Scriptures! The Scripture writers were the Church and so the infallible Church wrote the infallible Bible.

The mageserium has been around since the beginig since what came first? The Scripture writer or the Scripture?
why is the Bible not enough?
This very argument and your very postiion show why the Bible isnt enough.

why wouldn’t God just put it all in the Bible in the first place??
why would He make it extra complicated and hard for us to do good.
seems kinda mean to me.

hmm, i didn’t know the jews back in the day followed a magesterium??? you mean it has been around since the CATHOLIC church…which isn’t the beginning.

why didn’t God mention that there would be “more rules to follow!” ?

how do we know we need more rules?

and again, why isn’t the Bible enough? you didn’t answer that.

if it isn’t enough why did God do that to us? how do we know what “addons” are the right ones?

Wow, I feel bad for you and that must have been extremely awkward. With reason, I think that dating someone for four years for example without sex, and then marrying her could be a huge waste of time if you aren’t compatible with her in that regard. Normally the response to that is if you truly love the person, it is a shared first time with each other and it must be compatible, but that just isn’t the case. If you never masturbated, didn’t your body naturally have “wet dreams” during the years to release what most naturally would have been, released?

Apologies. You are correct. No excuses
