I have the opportunity to go to my first Latin Mass this week

Hi everyone. This Friday I have the opportunity to go my first Latin Mass. I am not sure if it is a Latin Novus Ordo Mass or if it is a Traditional Latin Mass. The bulletin only says that it is a “Latin Mass”. Does anybody have any idea which it might be? Also, what should I know before going if it is a Traditional Latin Mass. Do I need to get a head cover or something?

There is a very easy way to see if it is the Ordinary Form in Latin or if it is the Extraordinary Form:

Go to the sacristy before Mass and ask the priest.

If, for some reason, you can’t do that, take a look at the main entrance of the church. If there is a stack of missals (books with the Latin-English translation), pick one up. It will say whether it is the OF or EF on the cover or the inside pages.

If there are none, there are other ways to find out:

-If the priest says prayers at the foot of the Altar before ascending the stairs, it is an EF Mass.
-Ask a fellow parishioner

I hope that it is an EF Mass, since the EF Mass is substantially different from the OF in many, many ways (while being equally valid and licit, etc).
