Last night I was watching a protestant minister give a talk to a crowd in the Holy Land at the ‘secondary’ site of Golgatha, (which I didn’t know of). He believes, and he made it clear that this was his own idea, that Golgatha is the hill where David buried Goliath’s head and Our Lord being crucified at this site was a fulfillment of the protoevangelium prophesy.
Goliath of Gath, hence ‘Golgatha’, place of ‘skulls’, etc.
Goliath, being a giant and Nephilim, was a ‘seed’ of the serpent in Genesis. Hence, the seed of the woman was striking the head of the seed of the serpent, who in turn was striking the heel.
His theory, but I did find it interesting.
