prolifewife,

I don’t have much more to say besides what has already been said.

As someone else said, perhaps now is the time you are called to focus on getting healthy so that you are prepared for motherhood. A baby brings added stresses to our lives and marriages, along with all of the wonderful and joyful things they bring. It sounds like God might be using this time of trial to help you get healthy, take control of your OCD, and prepare yourself to be a mom who is able to wholly devote herself to her baby.

Remember, infertility is a cross we are called to bear with Christ–NOT a punishment from God or a sign that we do not please Him. Some of the greatest women of the Bible have been barren, and God uses them for His own purposes. In the Old Testament we read that Hannah was barren because she was loved by God, not because He had withdrawn His love from her. God loves you, prolifewife. Never forget that or doubt it.

I am sure that there are ways in which you are or will be a spiritual mother, if not a physical one. God has a plan for you.

You’re in my prayers.

I am so very very sorry that you have been given this cross. I’ve cried many tears over my fertility issues over the years… not exactly for the same reasons you have, but still - I know what it’s like to feel such bitter disappointment and frustration when things don’t go the way you had hoped. I cried many times: WHY God is it so easy for everyone else? WHY?! And not that it IS easy for everyone else… but when your arms are longing to hold the baby you desire so badly, and yet they remain empty, it sure seems that way. It’s heartbreaking isn’t it?

In retrospect, I can honestly say that God was there with me… in my darkest hours. Even when I cursed Him because I felt He obviously didn’t love me at all. I was wrong… His plan was best. I know that now. And the pain I went through made me the person I am today and I wouldn’t trade it. I wouldn’t have believed it at that time… nor do I expect you to believe it… but it’s true. God loves you so very much.

I will pray for you.

I can’t CAN’T take being infertile one more day. :bighanky: I had a total breakdown yesterday and I just can’t do this anymore. I’d rather be single than have to be infertile one more day. :crying: God would probably like that better anyways, at least I wouldn’t be “not bearing fruit” in His eyes anymore. I feel like God hates me and that he’s mad at me because I’m in a mixed marriage that is bearing absolutely no fruit. Physical or spiritual. 😦

And yes I’m seeing a counselor, psychiatrist, and am taking multiple medications for my “issues”. But they can’t make an infertile person bear children. My doctor said that if that is what is making me unhappy that no pill could cure that. 😦 So I’m stuck in this horrible place in life that I don’t want to be. :crying:
While I’m not married I’ve had to deal with this issue on an age related basis. For me it’s a day to day thing. Some days I rant at GOD about it and others it hardly enters my head. I guess the best thing to do is direct those gifts we have towards others instead of concentrating on what we don’t have. This works for me when I’m down. I don’t think you ever really get over not having kids like many things it’s just something you learn to deal with over time. It’s weird too because even though it’s something you never had it still seems like a loss. Just my humble opinion. My prayers are with you. 😉

My wife and I are going through the same thing. We are also nearing our 5th anniversary (in August).

It’s hard, but God is always with us, and never disappointed if we do his will.

Please pray for us and I will pray for you.

God Bless!

It’s definitely not Catholic teaching that God would like for you to be single. You’re a married woman, your marriage is your vocation. Also, as a Catholic you have to believe that Original Sin brought illness and such into the world. God did not intend for your (or your husband’s) body to be infertile, any more than he intends for people to have genetic deformities, and any more than he intended for Adam and Eve to have commited Original Sin.

That is the theological reason for your infertility, not that God is mad at you.
