A politically driven act.

If you’re silly enough to believe that is love, you must also believe that Harry Potter really exists.

I believe the Pope loved Muslims, Christ calls us to love our neighbours.

amen. The current Pope loves Muslims as well. Not because they are Muslims, but because they are men created in the image of God.

Loving someone does not mean you agree with them, condone their actions, or even accept what they do as being correct for them. It means you desire their well-being. JPII loved Muslims but that does not mean that he was happy that they were Muslim or condoned Islam as an alternative to Christianity.

Of course JPII loved Muslims! Why is this scandalous or a bad thing? What is the point of this?

Last time I checked it was a good thing to love people, even if they don’t share your religion.

It is good to love people. Without love, there will be wars. I don’t mean this in a very condescending tone, but sometimes we just have to lay down our arms and embrace our differences, no matter how alienated it may seem to the other.

Most of all, i’m tired.:hug1:

There will always be one tare who deprecates on a show of love and unity.

Lets be fair now it was not a show of unity with Islam, on matters of faith and theology we are very much divided.
Unity is more than being of same mind. We can disagree strongly on matters of faith and discipline, but it is love that unites.

We can be united with Muslims on the 2 greatest commandments. Love God and neighbor.

Agreed, but if we are only united on two matters are we truly ‘‘united’’?
