I Know Why I Hate Everything

Doesn’t it get tired to hate everything? I mean, aren’t you exhausted?

Not sure if that’s meant to be sarcasm but I’ll give a straight answer.

Yes it is exhausting, but I believe its worse to just brush it all under the rug and pretend modern humans are nothing but sunshine and rainbows. That’s the issue at hand, I don’t believe I’m better than most people - some such as moral relativist I know I am but for the most part the only difference between myself and others is that they have absolutely no consern for the sins they commit. For myself admittedly the guilt of five years of constantly stacked sin has numbed a lot of the strong guilt I used to have, but I’ll never just forget my sin is inside me unlike many in the world Catholic or not.

Wow. Maybe you hate everything because your naturally unpleasent, grumpy and mean.

I don’t get people like you, I truly don’t. I’m happy that I’m not like you-I would never want to know–much less befriend anyone who “hated everything”.

Sick, sick, sick. All that hate man…(or women, I don’t know you)…

Oh, without question it is my opinion. Yes, yes, yes.

Maybe you should ask yourself the following : Am I miserable because of my own actions? Am I making excuses to be this way? Do I not allow myself to be happy because I don’t want to be happy? Why am I miserable? Do I cause damage to the image of my church because people think all Catholics are like me?

These are all hypothetical questions.

In the long run, I guess it doesn’t matter, because I don’t know you, and don’t particulary want to if this is your attitude.

**Do I cause damage to the image of my church because people think all Catholics are like me?: ** I don’t think so, not nearly as much as the people who claim to be Catholic and then go and support contreception, abortion, homosexuality and so many other things the Church is clear about not supporting.

What is this an ego boost for you? Because thus far you’ve offered nothing but, “Your a terrible person, I’m glad I’m not like you.” and then finishing with a little smiley like you never really cared in the first place.

LOL! No, I get my ego boosts from climbing, chess, karate-those sort of things.
 
Why do you think you are lukewarm? If it is because you can’t sometimes make up your mind about yes/no questions, then I don’t see that as being lukewarm in the way God is talking about. I see the lukewarm as the people who go do what they are expected to do, maybe a little more, but not necessary, and go about their day, without even thinking deeply of matter of their soul. They may have anxiety over those things, but they stuff it. Is that what you mean by lukewarm?

I would say that is a good description of what I mean; for the most part I’ve stuffed the sins that put my soul in danger along with not doing what is expected of me. However I wouldn’t consider myself outside lukewarm because despite all the stuffing away sin I can’t just give up completely and live life as an atheist or even agnostic.

It’s not that people who appear happy just brush it all under the rug and pretend that people are nothing but sunshine and rainbows. It’s about focusing on the positive and making a positive difference in your little part of the world; rather than focusing on the negative and on things you can’t change. While some people might focus on feeling guilty for five years for a ‘sin’ or a ‘mistake’, others might look forward and use their past mistakes to make better decisions in the future, and for the future.

I happen to favor happiness. Usually happy people (if their joy is centered correctly) exhibit it through discourse much unlike yours. Ironic that Flavius actually exhibits it more accurately. :hmmm:

That’s true…sometimes it’s the little things that make one happy…like cow-nose-prints on the outside of the kitchen patio door, and dog-nose-prints on the inside of the kitchen patio door. Those makes this Catholic smile. It’s really not that hard to be happy…you just have to see the positive side of things, and not always focus on the negative side.

Spoken like someone who is defending the author of a thread called, “I know why I hate everything…”

Read my posts in the forums. If you think I’m unhappy, and you really feel that way your not just saying it to agree with someone else, than fine. Your entitled to your opinion.

I’m with you Rence! Nothing makes me happier than my dog. My cow, on the other hand, can be a grump.
