This week I learned from a friend that the word gospel in greek is “evan gel” or the “good news”. I am here to tell you all that the news is good, and so is the Lord!

Many of you may remember my previous (and only) thread on this forum. I came into the midst of the catholic faith a sheep in the woods among wolfs I have made friends and just over a month after coming into the faith, I have found my faith in God and His salvation once again. I am praying again; I am praying the rosary; I am praying for friends; I am choosing not to act upon my homosexual desires, and in my life I find God’s doors opening everywhere.

Although I am still ignorant in a lot of my faith, and still have a long road to travel still until I have my first communion, I am learning and have a thirst to learn more and more every day. I am ready and willing, and working to do God’s work in my life so that I may glorify His love for me and all of us.

I just wanted to come on here and thank you all. Thank You! Your kind, guiding words, and your prayers have helped me more than you will ever know, and I can never truly express to you the love that I feel for you all whom I have never even met.

The road ahead is hard, I recognize that, but I see that I am on the right path. My Church will keep me on this path, and I thank you all for guiding me thus far.

Thank YOU. and thank the LORD.

Love Always,
Jacob

awesome. Thanks the Lord.
God bless you and keep you on His path.

Thanks Jacob for sharing your faith with us.

Jacob,

Your post interested me enough to go back and read the previous thread. All I can say is God Bless! Your desire to be closer with God has inspired me and I am sure others.

Keep in mind, that Jesus is more interested in your thirst to learn more than your present state of “ignorance” (I would state that I know life long Catholics who are more ignorant of what God wants for us than you are). Keep loving Jesus and thirsting for more knowledge and you will be fine.

Although I cannot answer your questions regarding homosexuality and the Church, I can offer some resources for you to learn more about the faith. Others will tell you to buy certain books, and I can’t argue as most are great, but I like free the best. 🙂

The Mary Foundation has free CD’s (they require only nominal shipping charges) at www.catholicity.com. There is also my favorite, Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen’s series Life is Worth Living. It is a timeless explanation of our faith and I put him behind only PJP, Mother Teresa, and Saint Maria Faustina as the greatest 20th century Catholics. It is a 50 part series that averages almost 1/2 hour each and can be downloaded for free from here: americancatholictruthsociety.com/articles/sheen.htm

I burned the entire series on CD and have given sets to friends who cherish it as much as I do.

God Bless,

Jeff
