Saint Gemma Galghani, that is. She is dear to my heart. If you like her, too, or would like to learn more about her or actually hear her autobiography, I stumbled upon it and thought I’d share it. I’ve read it myself, and find it very edifying. I’ts one of my favorites.

This sounds good. Hopefully, I’ll find some time to watch it. I love reading anything written by a saint. They have a way with words and the way they express their love for God is always inspiring.
 
Yes, it’s very good. It’s essentially an audio book. The narration is quite good, I think.

One interesting thing about Gemma is her showing amazing spiritual maturity and devotion at an early age. Gemma speaks of this at the ripe old age of ten years old. Saint Therese and Catherine of Siena both were similar to Gemma in this regard.
 
I also like how bad she candidly explains how she was as a child. It’s rather amusing and she is just as bad and probably much worse than Saint Therese in her earlier years.

Yes, it’s very good, Jesus talks to her her quite a lot just as he did to St. Faustina, and it is all written down in her autobiography.

She wanted to join them and there were many obstacles that prevented that. After she died they recognized her truly as a Passionist and I believe she was buried as one. I’ll have to go and do a search…
 
Well, she is their beloved daughter, but she is not technically a Passionist, far as I know. She is their Honorary Passionist Saint, I think. She had a very deep devotion to the passion of Jesus as do the Passionists.

She was in their house for some time, but I’m forgetting all the details. I think I will watch super saints tonight and listen to more of her autobiography.

An interesting anecdote…

In the book, The Rite, which speaks on exrocism in the Church, the unclean spirits have been known to report Saint Gemma coming, along side of the Holy Virgin, to be present to help the possessed person be freed from the demon or demons. This is a wonderful example of the communion of the saints. I would say when Mary appears and with some of the saints with her, the demon is on its way out and it knows it. It complains and wails bitterly at their arrival and its imminent eviction.
