I love confession!

I just wanted to tell someone how much I love the sacrament of reconciliation. I try to be a good Catholic but I do mess up a lot because I am a very weak person and I went to confession today and I’m just so thankful that our Lord is SO merciful!!! Wow, aren’t we lucky that Jesus left us a way that we can know for certain that He has forgiven us???😃
 
I totally agree. Confession is a beautiful gift from God, and I cannot imagine life without this wonderful sacrament.
 
I wholeheartedly agree with you paul11b. I don’t know why so many Catholics avoid confession. It’s really a beautiful sacrament that we all need.

I agree1 I always wonder what people do who don’t have Confession. I get so down about sin but then I go and confess it and experience the forgiveness of Jesus.
 
I could not imagine life without Confession. I need it, I can’t live wihtout it. Thanks for starting this thread.

Let’s pray that all Catholics will come to love Confession and the other Sacraments.

I think if Confession was brought up more during Mass more people would go. For so many years now many priests do not speak about it. And a lot of parishes only have it once a week.

Luckily I have been noticing that some of the newer priests are coming out of the seminary more conservative and it is being addressed more. So there is hope!
 
I was just reading about the severe canonical penances that were imposed by the Church from the first to the seventh centuries for serious sins such as murder, adultery, apostasy, etc. – standing in front of the Church wearing sackcloth and ashes for extended periods of time, fasting on bread and water, being separated from the faithful during the liturgy, and so forth. Those kinds of penances would provide a powerful disincentive to ever do the sin again!

Confession and absolution are wonderful gifts God has given us through His Church… I regret I wasn’t born Catholic so I could have had the benefit of them all of my life.

A lot of people that were born Catholic take these things for granted. So many times the best examples for us cradle Catholics is converts such as yourself.
 
Total agreement here. Actually, I’m usually pretty nervous until I’m in there talking with Father. Then I relax. Afterwards, I feel great.

By the way, I don’t use the screen. I go face-to-face.
 
I love confession. After a confession I simply feel awesome!

Today I actually went to confession after a year away from the Church. It felt so amazing to hear those words “your sins are forgiven!” I can’t wait for Mass tomorrow and to recieve Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time in a LOONG time!!! SO HAPPY!!
 
This article is about a priest that I had the privilege to meet the Sunday before he died. The article contains very important remarks on how he looked at the sacrament of confession and this young priest mentioned those same concepts in his last homily during the Sunday Mass were he gave the First Communion to his Goddaughter.

I was where you’re at 2 weeks ago!! I was away 2 years and went to confession for the first time since then 2 weeks ago. I couldn’t believe the feeling of release from the chains of sin and then I couldn’t wait for Holy Communion!!! I’ve been going to a couple weekday Masses since then out of sheer joy and adoration of our God! I just hope this feeling lasts until I’m firmly back on my spiritual feet and can handle a few waves on the sea without failing miserably.

hmmmm wonder what I am doing wrong that I don’t like reconciliation that much?
