I love confession!

I went directly after work (I get out at 3 on saturdays and confession is held from 3-4) because I knew if I went home and changed, I would never be able to work up the courage to go. I’d make excuses “it’s too late, I’ll go next week…” I was sitting in the line shaking like a leaf, and praying for strength and courage. Suddenly, I felt this huge sense of peace and calm come over me. I calmly went and confessed, and now…I’m free!!! :extrahappy: God is so good!

Confession is such a blessing. It makes me sad that the confession lines seem so short… 😦

I just wished confession were more than once per week sometimes! 😃
 
I am blessed to have 5 churches within a 20 minute drive that have confessions at different times during the week. Two of them have daily confessions at 11am!! God has placed me in a great spot for reconciliation!! :extrahappy:
 
Confession was the sacrament I was most doubtful of before I converted. But, you can never convince me that it is unnecessary. I love this sacrament!! I just wish I could find a confessional like in the movies, you know a dark closet looking confessional. Seems nostalgic, I guess.

I once heard Scott Hahn say about confession “the more you need it, the less you want it”. I think this is the attitude that keeps many people away from the confessional. It amazes me, when I got on a regular schedule of going, it seemed to “rub off” on my oldest daughter. I am so proud that my 12 year old recognizes the need for reconciliation in her life!

Wonderful that your daughter is getting the idea!! As for confessional’s, our church has the old standalone boxes with screens, but also enough space on the priest’s side so you can sit face-to-face if you want. I love it cuz his side is lit up and my side is darkened. I reminds me that I am in a sinful (dark) state, and his side is the light of Christ! I do not like face-to-face cuz that makes it a personal interview between priest and confesser. I much prefer to not see the priest and know I am confessing to Christ.
