I’ve often thought about this one. That’s a good answer. I could add that to love your wife/kids etc, within the vocation of marriage, and to fulfill your duties well in this life, is a way of loving God.
 
Loving God above all things is not a limit to how much one can love another - there is no ceiling to love.
 
Without God we could have nothing in this world, not even life itself.
God asks us to place Him at the top of our list.
