My priest is reverent, knowledgeable, kind, devoted and very, very funny. Yet again in Mass this evening he made it very easy for me to see Jesus as he said and sung it. He spoke persuasively in the homily on the power of being obedient to God’s call to love. He singled each person out for a warm ‘bless you’ as they left, by name if he knew it, and shared a few generous jokes with some too. I am so grateful for his service and pray for him.

So, what about you? What about your priest is a blessing to you?

You and your parish are blessed. 🕊️
May God bless all our priests as true shepherd of souls.

My priest did a great job today. Prayed the prayer to the arch angle Michael and made his homily about pro life anti abortion. On sidewalk outside church HS students wrote all kinds of pro life anti abortion slogans with chalk.

HAHA! I LOVE my parish priest, too.

I love the priest that married my husband and I.

I love the seminarian that became a priest at my old parish. It was so funny having a priest younger than myself! He was a hoot at family barbeques.

I give respect to the priest who’s own selfishness lead me to search out a new parish. If it weren’t for him, I never would have found my current pastor who’s so spiritually sound and is my eldest daughter’s favorite person!

I love mine too.
Spiritual.
Kind.
Generous.
Patient.
Appreciative.
Real.

it surprises me too, how much people complain about their priests.

ii was on a mission trip a couple yesars ago, we all got assigned to a parish. it’s honestly a small miracle the amount of work the priests have to do. unnecessary criticism about petty things is the last thing they need.

granted, there are situations where there may be cause for concern, such as something completely unorthodox or immoral behaviour, but that’s a different scenario and procedures specific to those situations.

pretty much all the priests I know are humble and meek men who are trying theirb est to live out their vocation

Love our priest also. He has made many positive changes to our parish.

My priest of the last three years was absolute gold. Just a great guy and a wonderful spiritual father. I just learned that he was moved to a different parish, alas.

It’s a treat to see the way that one of my priests (we have three) interacts with the children. It’s really cute to see him giving them high-fives when they flock around him. 😍

I love my parish priest too!! ❤️
Absolutely everything about him is a blessing to me. To me, he is a friend, father, mentor, inspiration, and future Saint 🙂 He is gentle, kind, humble and so, so wise. He gives the best homilies and says Mass so carefully and reverently. He is always smiling when I see him outside of Mass, and will often greet me by taking my hand in both of his. His example has inspired so many people to become closer to their faith - including me! When you see him for confession, he always finishes by saying: “Go in peace, become a Saint!” He has a great love for the Blessed Sacrament, and I think the many, many hours he has spent with Jesus has made him who he is today. He is always gently bringing more and more people to perpetual adoration.
I just love him so much. He is such a beautiful person, and I feel so thankful that God has allowed him to be in my life. I want to come to know him better. I also want to become more like him.
I always love your posts JoyToTheWhirled! God bless you! I hope to see you one day in Heaven 🙂

My parish priest has got the gift that he can pitch a homily to everyone in the congregation simultaneously. From school kids to seminarians, everyone gets something. And that’s not just me, I’ve heard many people say it. And outside Mass he can find a way to talk to anyone. I think part of his appeal is that he is able to separate the dignity of the office from the humility of the man. During Mass he is a consummate professional, if you see what I mean, outside his humanity shows as well as his holiness as a good example for the rest of us, as I think a priest should be. He just gets the balance right between prayer and life. He prays and plays, so to speak.

Thank you for the thread by the way, it’s so common to hear criticism but so rare to hear compliments in general let alone towards our priests.

Our Parish Priest left a couple of weeks ago, after 14 years. We were all very fond of him. We are a single-priest parish, no deacon, so we were all waiting with bated breath for the new man to move in.

Hooray, the new priest is delightful - he’s so friendly and approachable (and only in his 40s).

I see good times ahead with our new priest. 👍

I really love the priest who married my husband and me. He is very reverent, respectful, and traditional. Also, his personality reminds me of my late grandfather whom I loved very much.

Our priest has become family to us, and vice versa. He was the youngest of 13 children in a farm family in the Philippines. He was sent half way around the world to minister to people in a culture he didn’t understand. A few years ago his mother was dying of Alzheimer’s disease. He saved his funds and travelled home to see her one last time. It is a three day boat journey to his village after he gets to Manila. A few months later his mom passed away. An announcement was made after Mass that said “Father Peter’s mother has passed away. I have asked the bishop if we could take a second collection to send him to the funeral. The bishop has said no, so as you all leave today, our collection baskets will be by the door. Please take care of Father.” Needless to say he was able to attend the funeral.
