I’ve seen threads like this before, and in that regard I’m borrowing the idea 🙂

There has been much negativity, or so I think, lately in regards to spouses and boy/girlfriends on this board. So I thought I’d start a thread for their praise 😃

I love my boyfriend. He isn’t Catholic, but we have discussions about faith often, and he listens to all my concerns- as absurd or random as they may be. We’re also interested in many of the same things, despite that one wouldn’t think the same person, much less two people, would like both (video games and theatre, anyone?). It’s long distance as well, so we’re always talking over MSN or the phone, and have a great understanding of each other due to already discussing about every topic that can be possibly thought up.

Y’all?

husband (well future husband) because even though it doesn’t understand why I became Catholic he just accepted it. And when I’m upset about something but not quite ready to share he just gives me a hug and lets me know without words that he ready to listen whenever. Those are just a few reasons.

boyfriend, because he’s sweet, strong, dedicated, and responsible. He sends me messages on my phone regularly to say that he loves me and that he’s thinking of me. He phones me on his lunch break almost every day. He works long hours to support his family (grandmother, mother, and two daughters from an annulled marriage) and rarely complains about it. He melts over children, and wants a large family. He always remembers special occasions, to a ridiculous extent - “Happy 8 months! Happy 9 months! Happy 10 months!” - and will call me at 12:01 on my birthday to make sure he’s the first person to wish me a happy birthday. He encourages me to grow as a person and improve myself, even if it means we have to be in a long-distance relationship for a few more months.

My parents - hardworking and fantastically strong morals and ethics.

They came halfway around the world with two children under five in tow and pregnant with a third to escape communism and start a new life in a country where Dad, in spite of having barely learned the language, worked his butt off in some pretty remote areas of the country.

Mum followed suit as soon as sis was born. Both brilliant doctors who spent 20 years selflessly serving their community and touched so many lives - and if reports are correct still, a good 15 years after moving cross-country into well-earned semi-retirement, have people asking them when they’re coming back!

Found time in the meantime to raise five daughters - at least four of whom ( 😉 ) have turned into exceptional women in their own right.

I love my husband. He works long hours right now, but calls me several times a day just to see how I am doing. He tells me everyday that I am doing a great job as a wife and mother. He brings me my morning cup of tea in bed when he is home on the weekends. He helps bathe and get our girls ready for bed. He is an awesome very involved Daddy. He is the spiritual leader in our house. When we first met and up until a year or so ago I never would have considered becoming catholic, but now I am very involved in the catholic church. He is an all around good man. There could be no one better! He rocks my world!

i love my wife for 2 main reasons.
  1. my daughter and any future siblings of hers
  2. without her i would quickly die homless hungry and dirty on the street

cats. They are so funny and entertaining, but also offer an unconditional love. I currently have one draped over my arms and one laying at my feet. They’re just so sweet and make our little apartment feel like home.

Aaaand: my husband. I love that he’s so willing to help with whatever I need help with, and he’s a great man. I was so proud of how hard he worked this weekend with the move, and I am so happy to have him come home each day.

Kids…
Yes…I think my kids are the Bomb! All smart, funny, caring, thoughtful…
and Husband…
And well dh is the sweetest guy I have ever met. I called him this morning and told him I think I will be unemployed this afternoon… I am so sick of one of my co-workers and he just said…“keep me apprised” then he really surprised me and told me he thought it would be good too…

My husband

Who is so patient with my depression and ADD…
Who can laugh at his own foibles and make me laugh too!
Who gets angry if I’m hurt, mentally or physically…
Who is always physically affectionate…

And so much more!

I love my husband. I am so blessed and lucky to have him. He is honestly one of the kindest, sweetest, funniest people I have ever met. He supports me through everything - all the depression, the depressed tantrums, and stress. He also wants to have a huge family, and is willing to be poor to do it :). We always say that we’d rather eat ramen and have a big, loving family than careers and no kids. I love that he’s so willing to do something that most people would think is insane.
I love that he is so Catholic. He converted - he says he made the decision after we climbed Crogh Patrick in Ireland - and I love that we support and encourage each other in the faith. Even when he thought some of the Catholic stuff was nutty - NFP - he learned about it with an open mind (and now he’s anti-contraception!!).
He’s the best. I love him so much.

Thanks to the OP for starting this thread!

God bless you for beginning this positive thread about spouses, and thus encouragring others to witness their love and gratitude for their spouse.

husband - He is agnostic, but attends Mass, discusses the homilies, prays out loud for our family, and is so very, very strong out of love for us.

I love my Lord. He died so that I can be happy and be with him forever. He died for me so that I may be set free. He’s healed me from my sinful habits. He’s told me how much he loves me everyday. He protect’s me and guides me. And when I am at the lowest part of my life, he carrys me. If that ain’t love I don’t know what is. Praise God for his greatness.👍

That’s wonderful! I set this up to praise our significant others [as I think they need it occasionally ;)] and have gotten great replies about children, parents, and now God.

🙂
Mm- and let’s not forget that it is God that led us to our spouses, gave us our children, and for that matter, gave us to our parents and family.
Praise God indeed 😃

My darling insert TC’s name here. hidden for privacy and to make sure no catholic men try to steal her from me 😉

I feel I would be remiss not to make a move now and mention my love. She is patient, kind and forgiving as only a soulmate can be. I try my best to keep her happy from where I am but one day I’ll just have to up and ask her to marry me. When I do I’ll be sure to invite all you smily happy people, and your spouses. The sheer love generated there would surely be enough to light the city of las vegas for a week?

To TC, my darling angel V raises a toast

(Edit: I have been told that TC isn’t used on this board. so change any instances of that to OP)

my DH because is the rock in our marriage for 11 yrs. (anniversary is 10/10). 🙂 and we share the same faith/beliefs.

He is: caring, helpful, humble, prayerful, honest, funny, and knows when to step in when my illnesses flare up.

He is a saint for taking care of me after my many surgeries over the yrs. I have to go in next Tues. for surgery and he will have to take over the chores as well as work full time until I get the ok from my doctor I can resume my normal activities.

He is the milk in my latte, butter on my toast, and stride in my step.😃 😃 😃 😃

I thank the good Lord each day for bringing us together.
