I Might Have sinned Just before Receiving! help me get some peace

I was sitting with some friends in the pew during Mass.
While I was on line to receive, my friend turned around and said something I responded because I didn’t want to ignore him and leave him hanging.

I assumed talking during this situation to be wrong (I don’t talk during Mass)
because I assumed it wrong

This was just before recieving, and it threw me off.

Just before receiving I was trying to reassure myself that it was okay and not mortal or anything, but I didn’t want to make an awkward scene so I didn’t want to turn back.

I received, without being in 100% certainty that I should have.

Did I sin by taking such a risk!?

I don’t think this was a sin - venial or mortal. I wouldn’t have even given that a second thought, so I don’t think you should worry.
