I need a free rosary

Most Catholic Churches in my area at least will give you one. Just go to a nearby Catholic Church and tell someone in the office that you would like one and can’t afford one. It won’t be anything fancy.

Another alternative is to go to Goodwill. I keep an eye out for them. You can order one for as little as five dollars by the way.

Oh…and by the way… a Rosary is not jewelry. It is a sacramental, a religious tool. Wearing one to set off an outfit won’t make you any friends ok? I am not trying to be mean at all, I just felt I should mention that since you said “hot pink.” I apologize if that was not your intention.

No worries. Seems like a lot of the CAF member are pretty austere with their rosaries, LOL.
I imagine Mary hears prayers n chubby fingers or metal beads, or crystal beads, or pearl beads, or semi-precious stones, or cords, or wood…LOL. Or even funky colors!

She lives nearby to both of us. I hope she got it in her mailbox today. we’ll see! 👍

She is not a child.

She has been on more than one forum, asking for a rosary.

I have offered to send one to her, but she hasn’t given me an address.

I don’t know what her game is, but since it sounds like she should have one from pianistclare, I won’t worry about it.

She does have one. I sent her one. Oddly, she emailed my pastor (and I think every pastor in this Archdiocese) and also several forums. I don’t get it. I sent one in good faith.
I hope she is using it.
She did write with an effusive thank you. I asked her to not bug my pastor again, and she said she would not.
So, at this point, I leave it in the hands of Our Lady.

She posted here, at CAF, asking for a rosary, on Aug 25.

I offered to send one, but she didn’t give me an address.

I’m not sure when she should have received the one you sent.

Bless you for sending her one. Has she said why she’s asking for another one that has been blessed by the Pope? I’m trying hard to understand. I’m not trying to be unkind but the whole thing seems fishy to me.

I have three rosaries. I keep one in my bedroom, one in my purse, and one in the bag that I carry to work. I was fortunate to buy them all myself.

Like you said, I hope she uses the one you sent her.

I think she may have a disordered notion of what sacramentals are…
She rec’d it about week before last on a Monday. According to my postal receipt.
She said she loved it. She did send a thank you via these forums, but I have deleted it now.
Again, I suspect:
  1. she’s quite young
  2. she’d going through something awful and
  3. she believes the rosary to be some kind of supernatural thing.
    I enclosed the instructions on how to properly use, pray, and possess a rosary.
    I’d ask everyone to entrust this poor soul to Our Lady, and hope that whatever peace she is seeking, she will find. If she is “up to something” as many have suggested, I know that Our Lady can take care of herself, and I pray for God’s mercy.

I agree. Except for the age thing, she told me that she is 26.

She did say that she thought a rosary blessed by a pope, would protect her. Which does indicated that she believes that the rosary does possess some kind of power.

I pray she gets through whatever has caused her to post so many times.
