DaughterofMary6- God bless you for the updates. I continue to Pray for you and all in similar circumstances.

Prayer to St. Joseph for Employment

Dear Saint Joseph, you were yourself once faced with the responsibility of providing the necessities of life for Jesus and Mary. Look down with fatherly compassion upon me in my anxiety over my present inability to support my family. Please help me to find gainful employment very soon, so that this heavy burden of concern will be lifted from my heart and that I am soon able to provide for those whom God has entrusted to my care. Help us to guard against bitterness and discouragement, so that we may emerge from this trial spiritually enriched and with even greater blessings from God. Amen.

O glorious St. Cajetan, you studied to be a lawyer, but when you felt that the Lord was calling you to his service, you abandoned everything and became a priest. You excelled in virtues, shunning all material rewards for your labor, helping the many unemployed people of your time. You provided loans without interest and you attracted a lot of benefactors who donated to your resources so that you could go on with your activities. Look on us with mercy. We wish to find employment that could help us and our families live with dignity. Listen to our petitions, dear saint; you, who could easily give up the food on your table for the needy, bring our petitions to Jesus. Amen

You were a model of virtue among the priests of your time, O St. Cajetan. You sought not to receive payments from your ministry, and you taught people how to pray the rosary and develop devotions to saints. You were truly a spiritual shepherd, and your concern was always focused on the salvation of souls. But despite this, you were also aware that with hungry stomachs, the faithful would have difficulty in understanding God’s Word. You embarked to help them, not just by giving them bread but helping them gain their living by work. Look on us with pity, O glorious saint. We have many unemployed people in our midst and their families go hungry. We ask you to guide the fathers and mothers who are looking for work. Amen

St. Cajetan, Pray for us. Amen.

Prayer for the unemployed

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, You wanted all who are weary to come to You for support. Lord, I am worn out by my inability to find wage-earning work.
Day after day, my worry and fear grows as the rejections of my applications mount. I am able and willing to work---but I cannot find a worthwhile job.
Please help me to obtain one soon so that I can support myself and my family
in a decent way.

However, if it is your will that I wait longer, enable me to worry less
and to be able to take advantage of the time available to get closer to You.
Let me realize that there are other ways to bring about your kingdom on earth
besides salaried work. Help me to make use of them for the time being
so that I may continue to grow as a person for your greater glory. Amen.

Money is getting even tighter and I am STILL unemployed. It’s rather difficult not to panic since I have bills to pay and cannot resort to unemployment insurance because it is still hanging in the balance. I don’t know when or if it will be approved and I’m really starting to worry that I will be financially strapped for a long period like I was before this last job. That period lasted 3 years before I found a new job. I am practically pleading with God to help me because I am very worried. I honestly don’t know what to do. 😦

I really need your prayers. I’ve been sending in resumes this week and a daycare called today that I responded to by email with my resume earlier this week. Unfortunately, it’s too late to call right now, but I will definitely call them tomorrow morning. I hope that a successful interview comes out of this, and, assuming everything is ok, I hope to start working again. I am so ready to move out and be independent. It feels like that time in my life where I am ready to branch out on my own. Before, it was a scary thought and I had trouble with it, but since my job as a CNA (before I left) up til now, it just feels right. Please pray that something positive happens and I can make my dream of living in my own residence possible. God bless! 🙂

Unfortunately, I decided not to call back the daycare because they are not accredited. Accreditation in this state is mandatory to receive state funds for VPK, and those without it are not good preschools. They have really high turnover there, too, because I went back on the Craigslist site where they’ve been listing and another ad for the same one I responded to was posted about a month back. That’s not good at all. So, I’m continuing to look at job advertisements and hopefully find something I am really interested in that would benefit me in the long run. I would really like to find something where I could work with animals, and I would love to work in the zoo here, but as I said, that is pretty far away and my car still needs repair. Please continue to pray!
