I need a link to buy a catholic bible online!

NAB, JB, NJB, RSVCE and others are or have Catholic editions. Seek the bible you are most comfortable reading. A bible is useless unless you like the translation and actually use it. Get something annotated, or with study notes. I have the New Oxford Annotated Catholic Bible =RSVCE. I Frequently use a parallel Bible with 4 translations, and a Comparative NT with 8 translations to compare and contrast . No one translation is perfect.

Catholic Bible: 73 books

Protestant Bible: 66 books
 
Hi my friend you dont need to order a catholic bible on line just pop in to your local WH Smith shop and they should have a copy if not they will order you one £14.95 or go to Waterstones they have them available all the time £15.00

For a Bible to be truly Catholic it would be translated properly according to the Catholic sense of scriptures, have all the books (what Protestants call the apocrypha), and have truly Catholic commentary instead of a mix of bad commentary.

But there are plenty of Bibles these days with the label ‘Catholic’ that do not have any of the above.

The Douay however, does have all of the above, so it is the first choice. 🙂

Perhaps the older Confraternity after that, not the new one. 🙂

Wow really!? I have to try this on my next pay day! I will post here when I finally get it, or if I do manage to get it ordered. Thanks!
 
I see that the original post was made this May, but I just thought I would make another suggestion for whoever may be interested. Perhaps the largest internet Catholic store in the U.S. is Aquinas&More. You can get to it at
aquinasandmore.com
Then click on the link to “Catholic Bibles” at the top of their home webpage. This will get to webpage listing Catholic Bibles for sale there.
Frankly, though, when I identify a book I want, I go to amazon.com then and get it at a discount (or to abe.com which may sell it inexpensively as a used book.)
Personally, I consider the Catholic edition of the Revised Standard Version the best.
Traditionally, larger groups that break off from the Church remove books from the Bible. One of the books Luther took out of the Bible showed the Jews praying for the dead, which of course implies that there is purgatory.

Yeah,and they weren’t even removed until the 1850s by some Bible society that did it to cut costs.

I know, it’s just unbelievable, I cannot believe that there are books missing in my bible! This is what made me question protestantism…

It’s great that I became a christian, but it is better still, if I am Catholic. It is our christian duty to be Catholic…
