There’s where my spools of yarn went! Well now if someone could get her over here, I could complete my afghan project!

Call off the dogs, that’s IT!
I took my pic down, I didn’t realize when you removed a pic from your profile, that whereever else you had that pic, disappears.Naaah, naaah, second pic, no good at all! Categorize under Trying Too Hard.
Just layer yours the littlest bit and flip the ends up.
Your current hairstyle is cute and looks great on you.
But, I have to say: the back of Kate’s head looks like a hedgehog. Please don’t do this to yourself.

I'll take the "hedgehog" over the "porcupine" every trip of the train, however. One recently defeated councilwoman in my town sported a porc. Too bad! :p
As for a new style, maybe blonde highlights or dyeing on the first half inch of the first front on both sides of the part would be a fun change. I HATE Katie Holmes haircuts. IMO, they must be styled every day to look good.
Someone said that "of course" men like long hair, b/c it reminds them of "maternity"? We love it on women b/c it moves, flows, it's soft and silky, OK, I'll stop. But it reminds me of HOTT on women, mothers or not! My SIL, 44, grew her hair to about mid-back for the first time ever, and my jaw hit the floor, for the first time ever seeing her. She was a major hottie!! But, it's back to lower shoulders now. At least it's not as short as usual. :( Rob :o
Hi whatevergirl, is this you and your child? WOW you two look amazing…*Oh no, not another hair thread.Well, here is a recent pic of me (taken last weekend), my current hairstyle.

It’s growing out from a much shorter look I had last year (that ‘posh’ look, remember that rave?) I don’t really feel like I want to go that short again, my dh would like to see me grow it long (here we go), but it’s really time consuming when long…and weights me down. He likes it this length, also, but you can’t see it in this pic, it’s shorter in the back. It’s like 3 styles in one.
I like Kate Gosselin’s hairstyle-the woman from Jon and Kate Plus 8. My dh just looked at me like… :ehh: It is similar to what I had last year, hers is a bit choppier.

I feel like a need a new look–what do you think would look good on me? (can you post some pics to give me a visual) Thanks everyone.
That haircut is adorable! It’s not matronly and definitely not teenagery. And I’m starting to make up my own words.Hi whatevergirl, is this you and your child? WOW you two look amazing…
Hairstyles…Hmmm…I think your hair looks great in that length…
I think this might be a good style for you?

What you think???
Well, I chickened out. :imsorry: Didn’t get the short, “cute” cut. :bighanky: (takin’ it kind of hard). But the good news is… that 4 inches were removed, totaling about 10 lbs. of hair (reallyYeah, the cut pictured above is really cute. Although, it’s a bit shorter than I’d probably go. Still, it’s not really what I would call “short and croppy” (like the spikey looking “do”). I’ll skip the tatoo, down my neck too.Hmm… maybe I’ll get brave, and give this cut a try. I hope no one calls me a “hedgehog” though…
that made me laugh!
Fun thread, thanks “WEG”.
Tell us how you really feel.Kate Gosselin’s hair is hideous. It is one of the ugliest hairstyles I have ever seen on a person. A bald head looks better.

 Not even *I* would go that far, JW. LOL At least with this style an optimistic man might think that at least she has a several month head start toward long hair. ;) Rob
P.S. Marie Veronica, I'm glad you "chickened out" and kept SOME length. Long hair is sensuous, in a way that many women, and to some extent, the men who love it, can't understand. Short hair can look cute, really cute, on the right woman, but it's really not the same VaVoom impact.
I don’t really want to look ‘vavoom’ at work…It is hard to be ‘one’ way at work, and another way for hubby. Not even I would go that far, JW. LOL At least with this style an optimistic man might think that at least she has a several month head start toward long hair.

Whatever you do don’t go too short. I hate it when I can’t tell if someone’s a man or a women. Or accidentally say sir when a short hair women who has her back turned.
Like “Weg”… I’m not really looking for the VaVoom impact, either (she said “at work”). But that made me laugh. No. I’m just chicken… about new hairstyles.P.S. Good day to you! And hope all is well! Your daughter is beautiful! God bless!hi iluvmybabies.Yes, that my dd and me…As you can see, I’m in need of a new hairdo…I am wearing a hairclip, and it’s all different lengths.
I like the style you posted…maybe not as short, but I like the style…thank you.

I have a friend who used to tie her waist-length hair in a bun in about 20 seconds, very professional looking. You know, I was thinking about my wife's short haircut when she was in her late 30's. Very few women over 40 had long hair at the time, but you don't really notice 40ish women when you are much younger, and those who did catch my attention seemed to have snarly, witchy hair. So, without really thinking, I accepted my wife's chop as inevitable, and probably a good, if disappointing, reality.
However, when I started my present job at age 38, I worked with many women 40 and beyond, and was struck by the number who had shoulder length to super long hair, almost all ultra pretty. So, a combination of an unwanted spike cut in summer, cold ears and neck in winter, and some prodding by a certain male lunatic got her back on the grow.
I've asked guys, and many feel the same way, that it's elegant and sensuous when older gals stay long. Watch men's eyes sometime when a woman unleashes a torrent of hair from her winter coat, or undoes her updo. Clearly, there are many times when a woman is not desirous of a VaVoom moment (lol), but when the hair is long, the potential is there, at the desired moment. BTW, I love buns too, but what goes up must come down, as they say. :D Rob
P.S. BTW, I always hated Meg Ryan's mop cuts. I think what most women envied was that she still looked pretty despite the dreadful style. Hmm... I'm glad she's been growing it lately.
