I will be in Las Vegas next week and would like to know of a good parish in which to attend daily and Sunday Mass. I will be staying just south of the airport near the Las Vegas Outlet center. Please help if you are familiar with Las Vegas and know of a good church there.

Whenever I’ve been to Vegas I go to Sunday Mass at Shrine of the Most Holy Redeemer. It’s on East Reno Avenue just across from the Luxor Hotel [The one shaped like a giant black pyramid] on the Strip. It’s probably a 15-20 walk from where you’re staying. There may be another closer to the place you’re staying but this is the only one I know of.

According to faithful Google, Masses are at 8 AM, 10:30 AM and 12 NOON each Sunday. Daily mass is at 11:30 AM Mon-Fri. in the main church with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from 10 AM to 1 PM in the Chapel of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Hope this helps.

Dave

Just an FYI, when my mother and aunts went to Las Vegas, the time on the website and bulletin of the Guardian Angel Cathedral was incorrect, and the rector told them that they recently changed the schedule. So, I’d call to double check, despite what the Diocese website might say.

This is where I go, too, whenever I’m in Vegas.

Hi, cw4lsu!

Just a suggestion…

If you have not already done so, why not use your visit to Las Vegas to experience Eastern Catholicism? There is a Byzantine Catholic parish just south of the airport, probably very near where you’ll be staying…

archangelgabriel.org/

This parish is fully Catholic and in full communion with Rome. Your attendance does fulfill your Sunday obligation and you are absolutely free (and encouraged!) to receive Our Lord in Holy Communion providied, of course, that you are in a state of grace that would allow you to do so in any Catholic parish.

Many Roman Catholics (and I assume that is what you are) would love to experience the “Eastern Lung” of our Catholic Church but cannot due to the fact that Eastern Catholic parishes in the USA are relatively few and far between - here’s one that’ll be virtually in your back yard! And if they’re at all like any of the Eastern Catholic parishes I’m familiar with, they’ll most likely welcome a visit from a fellow Catholic of the Latin Rite with open arms!

Thanks. I looked on google maps and found the shrine you guys were talking about. I also found a church called St Thomas More about equidistant from my hotel. Does anyone know anything about this church?? Any help would be appreciated.
