I need a phone line to God - enough of the silent treatment!

It is probably a good thing that we can’t directly hear from God or from those who have passed on.

If you can hear from God and heavenly beings, most likely you would also hear from the devil and those in hell. Many saints who have had apparitions have seen the good, but unfortunately they have seen the evil as well. Padre Pio was tormented by the devil as were other saints.

Yeah - I’ve noticed that too. It seems that visionaries who see God and the Saints also deal with demons.

I think I might just be fine with calling God on the phone. This way, I could block the devil’s phone number when he calls me on the iPhone.

Hey here is a great quote from Paul who acknowledges the “Perplexities” as part of our sufferings with Christ.
8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; **perplexed, but not driven to despair; **9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; 10 always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. 11 For while we live we are always being given up to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 12 So death is at work in us, but life in you. 2 Corinthians 4:8-12

The only way to destroy the devil’s work
in communicating w/ us and tempting us
is thru PRAYER. NO PRAYER no matter
how feeble, is in vain!! This is from my
47 years of experience as a Christian.
God WANTS us to communicate w/ Him,
it is often the devil who discourages us
so that we loose MEANING in our prayers,
but KEEP PERSEVERING, it WILL be
rewarded!!

I know exactly how you feel, I feel the same way.

If my wife gives me the Silent Treatment, I know I’m in deep trouble.

If God gives me the Silent Treatment, how am I NOT supposed to think I’m in deep trouble?

I wrote about how depressing the Catholic faith is - a total lack of ways to get a phone line to God. There is almost no way for ordinary people to have a conversation with God. God wills it that prayer be only a one way monologue for far too many people.

How am I supposed to think God wants me if he doesn’t want to talk to me?

Indeed - Discipleship (meaning following all of Christ’s disciplines) in daily life is truly a perplexing nightmare trying to hold the Cross up high with unselfishly kind acts of will.

There are moments that are so overwhelmingly exhausting to be a kind, loving parent in this oppressive world, I would gladly welcome a terrorist plane to hit my house and end it all with instant martyrdom for all of us that we might all be happy in Heaven rather than spend another day in this crazy, surreal place.

To add to the perplexity, there is our beloved Catholic Church that spends so many intellectual cycles trying to welcome non-Catholics rather than encouraging Catholics to carry the Cross of God’s Commandments and to “fill the earth” which His Children. In particular the Church should be shouting from the pulpits “avoid a birth control mentality” and “Raise these many children we are blessed with to be not only good Christian Citizens, but to pick up their crosses as well and fill the earth with unselfishly loving and generous Catholics”.

Instead, every Sunday, I shake hands with Catholics who at best have “decided” to have two or fewer children, we sing la la hymns together, listen to our Priest ask for money from those saving for their retirements, teaching us to hug one another all while tip-toeing around anything that has to do with raising many children and how to deal with the unbelievable number of complexities and difficulties that entails.

Then I look out and see Catholic Countries that are so disgustingly corrupt, they seem to be treating Catholicism as some type of superstition at best and a hidden Satanic occult at worst (inebriated celebrations like Day of the Dead which is not friendly trick-o-treating, Carnivale, etc.) and the drug markets turning already poor towns into slavemills and dangerous shooting galleries between mobsters.

And that’s not even beginning to talk about non-Catholic countries who work so hard to hide their sinful selfishness in abortion clinics that are nothing less than hideous replicas of Nazi deathmills in every town of all of our Western 1st world countries. And did I even mention abortive contraception supported by the “live by your conscience” adulterous mentality that raises Roman-like porn and orgies to an acceptable level to watch on TV during prime time?

And then do we want to talk about the selfish, hidden agendas of wars that are not limited to soldiers fighting soldiers? No, they uproot whole societies of innocent families killing children and hard working parent indiscriminately. How many witnesses are there of soldiers marching into families homes terrorizing everyone in the house all in the name of war?

A nightmare you say? Yes, indeed - it is a heinous nightmare of unbelievable proportions.

If God were a normal human being in charge of the whole human race, I would gladly give Him an earful and more importantly seek His advice on how to understand all the craziness and how to navigate it. But because I don’t have a phone line, I sigh and utter the words “Lord, Thy Kingdom Come… soon, please, please 2000 years since your Ascension is long enough. Fix us, oh God, before we destroy ourselves in our own selfishness.”

AH, all will be well, all will be well ( he is kind to the unrighteous also )

Keep to the commandments and follow your intentions under grace and always, always wear green shoes …
