I need a source where a pope condemns the killing of innocent civilians in war on terror

Hi everyone. I need a source that shows the Pope condemning the killing of innocent civilians in the war on terror. I have done a Google search but cannot find anything. I found a condemnation of the war in Iraq but I need something that shows him condemning the killing of innocent civilians as well. Thank you for your time! 👍

I am needing this for a debate with a Muslim.
 
Well, the Muslim started trash talking our Pope so I blocked him. But I did send him an e-mail showing him where the Pope prayed for civilians in Afghanistan. You can find the link that I used here:

2313 Non-combatants, wounded soldiers, and prisoners must be respected and treated humanely. Actions deliberately contrary to the law of nations and to its universal principles are crimes, as are the orders that command such actions. Blind obedience does not suffice to excuse those who carry them out. Thus the extermination of a people, nation, or ethnic minority must be condemned as a mortal sin. One is morally bound to resist orders that command genocide.

To tackle the issue of civilian casualties in wartime fairly from a Catholic perspective, you should also discuss two issues in moral theology on the matter: consequentialism, and the principle of double effect.

Sieze the initiative…please ask your Muslim friend to first justify ‘suicide’ bombers, when is the last time you saw a Christian suicide bomber blow up a bunch of innocent people in the name of Jesus???

When is the last time you saw a Hindu cut off the head of a non-believer and put it up on YouTube?

When is the last time a bunch of Swede’s hi-jacked a few jets and fly them into occupied buildings full of innocent people?

When is the last time you saw a Protestant, Catholic, Mormon, Hindu, Buddhist, Jew, atheist or agnostic killed a family member in the name of honor?

Why are Muslims persecuting Christians in Iraq, Pakistan, India and Africa?

The Quoran is full of violance against non-believers and women…show me any other culture or religion that promotes violence in this way?

As this Muslim how Mohammed could justify marrying a nine year old girl?

How many riots have Christians initiated because of offensive cartoons, pictures or degrading statements about Jesus? How many have Muslim’s initiated.

How can a Muslim explain and justify Sharia Law that allows men complete dominance over women, tolerates family honor killings, allows men to beat their wife or divorce them and leave them with nothing.

Why don’t the majority of Muslim’s condemn these things instead of remaining silent?

Muslim’s have no answers for these kind of questions because there is no acceptable answer, no acceptable defense. So instend of defending the indefensible the Muslims want shift the discussion to the evil Pope, the evil Jews, the evil infidels, the weather, navel lint, hangnails or anything else to avoid the obvious.

Don’t let them do it!

Holly, try spending the time you spend dabbling in and debating with other religions and spending it in prayer and spiritual reading instead. It will be very good for you.

And ask them why they are using innocent civilians as shields.

And why would innocent civilians be associating with the terrorists unless they were being held as shields?

You may also want to ask them why the terrorist are dressing up as civilians resulting in our military not being able to differentiate between them?

Be careful in generalizing about other religions when comparing to Islam. I think the criticisms of Islam are valid without such comparisons.

Suicide bombing is not exclusive to Islam as Rajiv Gandhi, former president of India, could tell you. Neither was his death a unique incident.

Honor killing are well known among Hindus also and dominance over women is more cultural than religious is much of Asia and Africa. Ever heard of the practice of sati, which is rumored to still occur in isolated incidents?

Historically, child marriages were until recently, acceptable in many of those same cultures.

As for wars and conflicts between and among religious groups, history is replete with examples of those.

Again, as I noted above. there are many valid grounds to criticize Islam without comparisons that may not hold in an argument.
