I need accountability

i’ve come here for advice for my porn addiction before but feel like i’m missing accountability
i need help so if somebody would like too help please let me know
prayers and advice are also very appreciated thank you.
 
Praying to the Holy Spirit to give you guidance, direction, strength, fortitude & wisdom to overcome your temptations.
 
Accountability works best when you see the accountability partner in person from time to time.

Are you looking for someone here to do that for you?

I would ask someone in person but all the people I’m close to I’m afraid to tell that’s why I came here for advice
I know this is probably a phase in my life but this is most miserable and most failing I’ve ever felt. I know this may transform me to a better person but right now I’m in a hole and every other problem in life that I could usually ignore is now amplified into more sadness and hopelessness
Every since I came here a few weeks ago its been getting better
I know the devil tempts me because he knows I’m a threat to him but I’m in a state of self hatred and need accountability from someone to help me get out.
I know I have a long detailed story and I may be over doing it but this is the only thing I could think to do

Go to Confession to the same priest every week. If you are afraid of your parish priest, then go to a priest at a different parish - someone you are never likely to encounter outside of the Confessional, if necessary. But go to the same one every week - and did I mention, go every single week, whether you need to or not.

Secondly, pray the Rosary and pray to your guardian angel every time you sit down to relax and and every time you go to lie down on your bed. Keep busy with work and household chores, take up a hobby, stay away from screen time, radio, and print media other than strictly for work, to communicate with family, and to watch the news.

If you still have spare time where the addiction has room to creep in, use that time to memorize the Scriptures. Go to Mass as often as you can, and pray to God constantly - talk to Him about absolutely everything.

I would love to go to confession every week but getting my family to go will be hard

Yeah and that probably wouldn’t let me go myself

I think my sister is going next week and I will try to tag along and then bring up that we should go more often

I’m so sorry for your struggles.

If it’s any consolation to you, I struggle with some habits that I have a hard time trying to overcome. I have had them for a long time, and I don’t like having them in my life, either. It has been a struggle for me, too.

Try and take one day at a time. You won’t feel so overwhelmed when you take things one day at a time. That is all that any of us can do. 🙂

When you fall, just pick yourself back up again, and keep on trying. We all fall down. The thing to do is to keep getting back up again, though.

When I fall I try to stay happy because sadness and stress make me fall again but now because of how bleek this has made my outlook on life seem at time sit is hard to be happy.
I go through times where I feel like I have to cry and feel down out of no where because if shame and guilt.
I fake smiles to hide my true emotions from others
My friends are the only thing that makes me happy and I usually seem that at church events.
I hope my life can get back to normal soon so I can be who I feel I’m being called to be.
 
Remember God and his mercy…we can do nothing to make Him love us less. You will fall, but pick yourself up, confess your sin and start again. Use a good accountability software on your computer and stay away from any images, videos or material that might cause you to fall. The addiction is tough, but you WILL win, with the Lords grace. Don’t expect it to happen overnight…it’s a long battle. Bless you!
 
from my experience, when i am aware the temptation is about to come i have to remind myself that we have to “…love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your being, with all your strength, and with all your mind…”

for me ‘with all your strength’ means resisting the temptation as much as i can. the prayer Jesus gave to Myrna Nazzour helped me a lot.

you can also choose to remove yourself from the situation, just stand up and get out of there and do something else.

actually, i do not know where i have read/heard it, but they say it is hard to resist temptation, so the best thing to do is run away from it.
