I’ve been struggling with porn and masturbation, and it’s getting ridiculous. I absolutely feel like a different person, and it scares me. I hear devil thoughts in my mind and it’s making me feel hopeless.

I don’t have any excuse not to go tomorrow, as I have the weekend off. But I’m afraid that when it comes to time, I’ll somehow convince myself not to go. I plan on taking a walk around the lake beforehand to calm myself.

Words of encouragement, motivation appreciated. I need someone to remind me why it’s worth getting through this. Please. I don’t want to become this.

Obviously the Holy Spirit is prompting you.

Just go, and when you get in the confessional remember the three Bs: be Bold, be Brief, and Begone.

Don’t play a mental game of tennis, just obey the Spirit motivating you.

Jesus is waiting to heal you,
Deacon Christopher

I have always found the Sacrament of Reconciliation to be healing. The priest, speaking with the authority to absolve, says:

God, the Father of mercies, through the death and resurrection of his Son has reconciled the world to himself and sent the Holy Spirit among us for the forgiveness of sins; through the ministry of the Church may God give you pardon and peace, and I absolve you from your sins in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

The sins confessed are erased, praise God. And honestly, I have heard a large number of priests say they don’t even remember the sins. Also they’ve heard everything under the sun. And they cannot reveal a word you have said. Another option is to confess to a priest we don’t know. Remember, reconciliation helps us on our way to holiness. It’s a gift, not a punishment. Let Jesus embrace you with His Mercy. May we all continue on our lifelong journey to holiness.

God bless you!

It’s like peeling off a band aid. It stings but do it. We have all been there. I never regretted going to confession. Just do it, man. God is always ready to forgive if we repent and ask. God bless!

Go! Tell the priest just what you said here. I promise you he won’t be shocked. Why go? You’ll feel sooooooooooooo much better when you’ve been forgiven. And he will probably give you some good advice that will be helpful for you.

Go to Confession!
Go directly to Confession.
Do not pass GO.
Do not collect 200 dollars!

Otherwise you will get the Go Directly to Hell card.

We hear everything. You’re not going to shock the priest. And we usually don’t remember what we’ve heard. Just go, say what you did. No details, no explanation, if Father needs more information he’ll ask. But saying “I did X sin Y number of times” is pretty well sufficient. In and out in five minutes, ten at the most of Father is feeling talkative.

Just go. The Lord makes it very easy for us to receive his mercy.

You are saying that you feel really awful right now carrying your burden

How could confessing be worse than that

Imagine how you’ll feel after confession!
Such a relief and reconciled with God.

Be brave, if you see him at a particular time just think, by ten minutes past that time it’ll be in the past 🙂 +

Hugs! You know what you need to do— so go do it, and then use it as encouragement to avoid it in the future, so you don’t have to say it again. 😛

Remember that you need to be truly sorry and detest sinning again in future. Confessing simply to get rid of guilt isn’t enough.

I just delayed my confession for this reason. Also please stay in the pew and don’t receive Communion.

Do buy yourself a cheap pocket prayer book. Prayer helps a lot.

Praying for you…
