Hi, my name is Michael, I’m 15 yrs old, and I wanted to see if anyone of you could help me understand what I experienced.
So… a couple of weeks ago, I had a very weird dream. I was in my bathroom taking a shower, I had this uneasy feeling like someone was watching me. Then suddenly I heard a lot of voices telling me parts of the bible, most of them where from the book of Job. As this happened the water begun turning blood red. All of the sudden someone screamed my name MICHAEL, and I woke up immediately gasping for breath. During that week I was heavily tempted.
My thoughts on it are that maybe God was warning me of the temptation I would experience? As the book of Job talks mainly about it.
I’ve never had a dream like this one and sadly that week I ended up giving up to sin. But I would like to know as to the future how to recognize the warnings God will give me to be ready and prepared to fight it. I would appreciate if you could share any of your thoughts on this matter.

It sounds as though your dream had been orchestrated by a demon or demons. It has been known throughout history to be demons that make a person see water turn into blood. In a waking state, it has gone as far as driving a person mad. Don’t fret though, the demons can’t hurt you, unless you invite them into your life by abusing drugs or performing certain pagan practices such as mediumship or any conjuring up spirits of the dead or demons themselves. These activities offend God and should not be done. May peace be with you.

Dreams are how your mind works out the stresses and problems that are on your mind.

Dreams are journeys into the spirit world. Ezekiel would have visions of God in dreams. An angel came to Joseph in a dream to tell him that it was ok to take Mary as his wife, that the child was conceived of the Holy Spirit.

“Saint Augustine of Hippo (d. 430 C.E.) left several writings clearly expressing his opinion that dreams can come from several sources: from the divine, from below, or simply from everyday life.”

“St. Augustine also discusses lucid dreaming in one of his letters – as evidence of life after death.”

Again, Church doctrine, not harvested unattributed quotes.

Warnings against interpreting dreams can be found in this document from the Church:

Depth Psychology: the school of psychology founded by C.G. Jung, a former disciple of Freud. Jung recognised that religion and spiritual matters were important for wholeness and health. The interpretation of dreams and the analysis of archetypes were key elements in his method. Archetypes are forms which belong to the inherited structure of the human psyche; they appear in the recurrent motifs or images in dreams, fantasies, myths and fairy tales.

If think you will find that your idea of dream interpretation is coming dangerously close to divination reference CCC:

2116 All forms of divination are to be rejected: recourse to Satan or demons, conjuring up the dead or other practices falsely supposed to “unveil” the future. Consulting horoscopes, astrology, palm reading, interpretation of omens and lots, the phenomena of clairvoyance, and recourse to mediums all conceal a desire for power over time, history, and, in the last analysis, other human beings, as well as a wish to conciliate hidden powers. They contradict the honor, respect, and loving fear that we owe to God alone.

The fact that dreams are journeys into the spirit world is recorded in the Holy Bible. Father God would visit Ezekiel in dreams. God is spirit and in the spirit world. Ezekiel would have been in the spirit world when having visions of God. Also, Joseph was in the spirit world while dreaming when the angel had come to him.

Mathew 1:20. But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

Also, I spoke out against the conjuring of evil spirits. Don’t make the mistake of claiming that I have done something wrong, when I did not. The young man wants an understanding of his dream. And I provided one for him. God be my witness, I have not taught falsely.

Ezekiel was a prophet of the old covenant. Saint Joseph was going to be the foster father of Jesus. The angels speaking to them in dreams were an exception. For us dreams are just dreams. We don’t need dreams or special messages to follow Jesus. All we need to know is taught by the Church.

Ezekiel and Saint Joseph saw the significance of dreams. It is not that we need dreams to follow Christ. Only, your views are shallow and lack understanding. We are all in the spirit world during lucid dreaming.

Here again,

“St. Augustine also discusses lucid dreaming in one of his letters – as evidence of life after death.”

He found dreams important enough to write about and found lucid dreaming to be “evidence of life after death.”

There is heaven, there is purgatory and there is hell. I don’t think we can visit them in our dreams. Or what do you mean by ‘spirit world’?

Often times we are out of our bodies and in the netherworld while dreaming. We interact with the dead, and demons often orchestrate our nightmares. They accuse us before God in our dreams. The recovering alcoholic dreaming of drinking a beer is being tempted by the devil. We can be out of our bodies dreaming of someone else who is out of their bodies while dreaming. The famous artist, Akiane Kramarick would have dreams of heaven. She would be out of her body and in heaven while dreaming. The list goes on and on.

Here’s my two cents for the OP. It could either be a genuine demonic messing with you or just a weird dream. Either way; I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Just in case, say the Saint Michael Prayer and participate in the Sacraments. As for the spirit world journeying; it sounds New Agey.

Thank you all for your answers, I’ll try to not worry much about it, whatever it was for or whoever made me dream that be it a demon or an angel, it’s over, I’ve seen some interpretations saying it represents I’m overwhelmed by my emotions, and that my peaceful mind state was unbalanced which I find that happened to my on that time.
May God bless you.

Please don’t.
If OP really is a 15 year old who had a whopper of a bad dream, don’t feed his anxiety with horror fantasy drivel about blood, demons, driving a person mad, etc.

@Michael4, you had a bad dream. It’s over and done with.

I agree with this. Very true.

That is an occult practice called “astral projection” or “lucid dreaming”.

Stay away from it!
