I need help with prayer

I go to catholicexhange.com they have the readings for the day, a short homily generally from Mons. Father Clark, Saint of the Day and a Word of Encouragement.

Remember to start slowly build a good foundation first. I just started getting my monthly Magnificat. Full of beauthiful prayers, reflections, songs. Prayers can be sung.

I would recommend anything that you can do from your heart as an act of begging for mercy and an expression of a desire to love truth.

Something that is not physically burdening.

“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a poor sinner.”
“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a poor sinner.”
“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a poor sinner.”
… (on rosary beads, or just over and over for a long time)

Focus your desire on obtaining mercy and grace. Pine for mercy.
God honors the desires of our hearts.

A very effective prayer that is also very simple is the Divine Mercy chaplet. Powerful effect for conversion from terrible evils.

Spiritual reading is also important to aid in your conversion of heart. The Bible, Imitation of Christ, Dialogue of St. Catherine of Siena, lives of saints. Sometimes something you read will inspire you with a spontaneous prayer.

Practice fasting and giving alms to strengthen your resolve in doing good.
