I need help

Hi everyone,

Since I joined this group I learnt and evolved a lot in my spiritual life. I came to understand catholicism and christianity in general. Thank you so much for your help!

However, I feel like I need some kind of prayer, cleanse. I just don’t feel right as a believer, follower of christ. I just feel like there is something wrong inside, spiritually. I know this may sound a bit odd, like a ‘nutjob’ talk. But I would really appreciate if you’d advise me whichever way you could. I just don’t know how to talk to my priest about it. How do I start talking to him, what do I say?

Just call him. Ask him for an appointment. Express your feelings as best you can. He’ll get the picture. That’s what they do…advise people. He will ask you many questions about your life, your faith journey, where you’re at right now with everything. Only he can advise you once he knows your situation. But it’s not wrong to simply ask for an appointment. MANY people do this. It’s not asking too much, and it’s not unusual. Be at peace.
Go see your priest.
He may recommend Confession, he may recommend spiritual reading, a devotion, or participating in some ministry, or attending Adoration…who knows? But you won’t know anything until you ask.

Hey kathzim,
I don’t know the source of your feeling of spiritual unrest but I agree with the previous response by pianistclare; please set up a meeting with your spiritual director or priest. I can’t emphasize seeing a qualified person vice just talking to a friend.

Another thing you might want to do before you meet with your priest, find a safe, quiet place where you can sit and not be distracted. Clear your mind of your daily actions and worries and just start “In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit…” I spend hours each day reading and learning more about our faith and this daily personal prayer is vital to me. I try to set aside at least 10 minutes each day at the same time, same location so I can push all other thoughts out of my head and heart and remind myself that everything I do I do for God. This is in addition to my praying the Divine Mercy or Rosary. I hope this helps and look forward to your response after your meeting with your priest. Have a Blessed Day.

I was going to say find a quiet place and talk to the Father about anything and everything. It’s kind of the same thing. Get in touch with yourself and talk to God! Then by all means go see the priest or spiritual advisor.

Make an appointment and tell him what you just told us: that you feel like there is something spiritually wrong inside and need help figuring out what it could be. It might be helpful to jot down a few possibilities before you talk, to help narrow down the problem.
