I sell used books on line through Amazon. I’ve been doing this for years and can average about $50-$100 gross per week. You can get your inventory from thrift stores who charge about .25 per book and sell for at least 10 times what you pay for. You have to be careful about what books you buy - only buy those ones that you can resell at a decent profit.

Also, medical transcription is an excellent idea, but it may cost you money to learn it. Bellevue Community College has a MT program that is 100% online.

Good luck and God bless!

I am glad to hear that. We started listing some of our books on Amazon this weekend. Now we just have to build up more inventory. We have a nice little start on things already though. 😃

Are you able to tutor? I charge $30/ hour if I go to them and $25/ hour if they come to me. —KCT
I am looking into tutoring. How do you market your services? I am creating web site for myself. I have all of the content, I just have to jazz it up a bit. If anybody wants to see it, you can PM me. I am not sure what the rules are about posting something like that on here. What I would really like to do is offer career services. I have helped several people with resumes and stuff like that. I recently helped a friend put together a professional portfolio. I have the time and patience to search all the various job posting boards. I did this for a friend and she has already had several calls from the leads I gave her.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

One of the best ways to market yourself is in your Church bulletin. You help the church by paying for the advertising and you are offering your services more directly to your own community.

I know that when I need something, I look in my Church’s bulletin first. Anything from landscaping to catering can be found in mine. I don’t know if your church has an extensive bulletin or not. If not, do they have a message board where you can put up a flyer?
