I need prayer, please!

I did not know I had so many dear brothers and sisters in these forums that really care so much about others, and here about my personal situation. Reading this here at 8:50PM Eastern Standard Time today January 1, 2005, I am deeply touched and overjoyed by every single beutiful and inspiring posts here from ALL of you. I will try to respond PERSONALLY to each and every one of you later on tonight. I wish I can hug you ALL, in gratitude for your prayers for my two situations which I previously posted above in my thread topic. I have not heard such inspiration and great advice for a very long time. Especially such uplifting comments such as that some here said they have learned some things from me, and that it was obvious I am a religion teacher, and so trained at Fordham University in New York.
I again will too pray for each and everyone of you. My dear brothers and sisters: Happy New Year. Your friend and brother in Christ: misericordie.🙂

My wife and I work with a Catholic Ministry called Singles for Christ (SFC). They are spiritually filled men and women who pray together and support each other in all walks of their life. The SFC is a great group which can help you. We are not a dating service, we are a prayer group, though many of our singles do date each other because they found a person who is their spiritual equal. As one of the coordinators of the group, I do have to admint to a problem. Many of our singles are leaving in pairs 🙂 to join the Couples for Christ.

Misericordie: I’m not sure where you live, but I believe that there are many teaching opportunities in Catholic schools in the Southwestern United States. I used to teach on the Navajo Reservation and I can think of two schools, Saint Bonaventure’s in Thoreau, New Mexico, and Saint Michael’s, near Window Rock, Arizona (founded, if I’m not mistaken, by Saint Katherine Drexel herself. Both she and Blessed Theresa of Calcutta visited our diocese). There are also, more than likely, positions open in large cities, even here in Las Vegas, where they are opening a new Catholic high school very soon, the older facility being inadequate. I should, however, warn you that as far as I know, the indult is not permitted here nor in the Diocese of Gallup (where I was). I believe that it is permitted/applied in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, New Mexico. I believe I read that somewhere and would advise you to look up their website (as you know, I love the Mass of Paul VI). Archbishop Michael Sheehan is a wonderful, evenhanded and orthodox bishop. I said a prayer for you to Our Lord and asked the Blessed Mother to intercede for you as well.

Remember always that God has a plan for you and more shall be revealed. Believe He will show you the way and He will. I am saying this as much to myself as I am saying this to you! I have been unemployed for six months and am desperate for stable, permanent work. I am doing everything I can to secure work and I have faith my lot will improve because God didn’t bring me this far just to drop me! and He didn’t bring you this far just to drop you, either! Something that really helps me is to attend Mass as often as I can–it is so very healing. So I will keep you in my prayers, too, forums friend, and thanks again for reaching out–it lets all of us reach back to you! Many blessings!

Hey! Just in case you should forget…You are very much still in my prayers. I hope you’re feeling better. Don’t give in. I’ve been there…the darkness can be terribly dark to the point of despair, and we know we don’t want to go there do we?!

Once when I was REALLY down i was praying and I KNOW I felt an angels hand on the very center of my chest over my heart. Talk about a comfort! WOW! and some seroius worship followed.

Prayers for you. It may be difficult, but always keep an expectant faith, expecting that God has your ultimate fulfilment in mind, that even now He is acting to bring about His perfect will in your life. Just desiring and trying your best to know and do His will is all he asks of you. I find praying over the Psalms and Gospels especially helpful during bleak periods.

Stress contributes to depression because it depletes the adrenal glands and leads to excess of cortisol, which also contributes to underlying health problems.

there is a booklet called Catholic Response, which you can get from Catholic Relief services, or the USCCB website. It lists volunteer work experiences (some with stipends and health care benefits if long term) for short and long term with religions orders, missions, urban outreach, schools etc all over the country and the world. You are single and in a great position to make such a commitment for 6 months or a year. Teaching on an Indian reservation, at an inner city Catholic school, or catechist with any of a number of outreaches, such as Glenmary in Appalachia, or projects funded by Catholic Extension in poor dioceses (including mine) all over. Would give you teaching credentials and resume experience as well. Nothing like serving others to get you out of the dumps. The jobs are categorized by geographic area, by type, by skills, by age group (some encourage seniors, some young adults). kind of a CAtholic peace corps, great way to meet other singles if you pick your job right. Daughters best friend from college taught on an indian reservation for 3 years and met her husband there, after giving up on marriage at age 34.

Thank you so much!! Thanks with all my heart. Also, if you guys can lift my dad up in prayer, he has a severe heart problem. Also, for the peace at home.
 
I will lift you up in my prayers. God has a plan for all of us single people. He just needs time before He springs the perfect person your way if that is His will for you.

Absolutely, teachers are desperately needed in NM. ( I just moved from ABQ, and you should hear the commentary on the need for teachers). Also, Archbishop Sheehan does allow the Indult. It’s the noon Mass at St. Ignatius/Ignacio.

You wanna teach. Your single and aging. Ever thought about being a priest?

Just a thought.
 
Being single bothered me a lot. A great motivational priest, who works with young adults like us said he has people coming to him a lot with the lonely, got no one issue. It is a little harsh but he said, “Where did you get the idea that God garuntees you a happy love life? You came into this world with nothing and you will leave with nothing. You are not less of a person because you don’t have somebody. Dwelling on this issue stops you from seeing and sharing the other benefits you can bring to this world.”

Today as I was thinking of this: Ifelt like breaking down and weeping, seriously, the thoughts again of my misery in not finding anyone is really painful for me.
