I need recommendations for holy reading

Hello,

My priest recommended to me in confession that I read some holy texts, maybe 10 mins every day. It could be anything, like a biography from a saint or whatever. Does anyone have a good recommendation for such reading? I like St Anthony of the desert for example. Even better would be if there is a free resource online for this stuff.

I came back to my Catholic faith by reading about Orthodox saints, the Orthodox have a better way of expressing the spirituality of the early church, such as St. Anthony of the Desert. Since I was in a similar desert, being raised outside the church yet with all the sacramentals and customs/culture, I relate more to the Eastern church. Christ meets us where we are.
 
You may want to think about getting a Lectio Divina version of the Bible. Can be picked up in any Catholic book store. Easy daily reading.
 
There is an app called Laudate. It has every days readings, every Saint of the day. I use it “religiously”. (And it’s free)
