The significance of the bee?
i dont know parker. i think this is a beautiful analogy. i think all of us could benefit spiritually from this type of lesson. makes sense. i know the Mormons in utah live this. just look at any new subdivision, and your church buildings are right in the center. id love to see some Catholic communities spring up like this. i know we have monasteries and the like, but i wonder if we as laymen/women started living like this, what the result would be?think about it. a subdivision filled with Catholics, with a small chapel or cathedral in the center…that would be sweet! PeaceHi, StrawberryJam,
The best source I found for understanding why the idea of the “honey bee” or “deseret” became symbolic in the early days of the LDS church, (after doing a query on that subject), is to read the following source information and think about the ways that a “honey bee” and a bee colony show “self-reliance” and “community involvement for the common good” in the way they store honey, “work” industriously, and care for their “poor” by their God-given instincts. It is analogy, but carried too far could of course be taken on tangents.
